Here's a list of the current local boys that are UFA's or RFA's this coming off season. Torey Krug D & Corey Potter D Boston. Chad Billins D Calgary. Drayson Bowman F & Nathan Gerbe F Carolina. Corey Tropp F Columbus. Tim Thomas G Dallas. Danny DeKeyser D & David Legwand F Detroit. Jeff Petry D Edmonton. Matt Greene D LA. Adam Hall F Philadelphia. Chris Summers D & David Moss F Phoenix. Chris Conner F Pittsburgh. Ryan Miller G St Louis. Ive only included players that are currently on the NHL rosters, there are others that have been up in the NHL but are more often on the AHL affiliate teams roster. There are a few interesting names on the list and some I think the Wings brass may look at in the off season. DeKeyser re-signing is a must and i wouldnt be surprised to see Legwand offered a new deal. But are there any on the list you'd like the Wings to pick up? Mine would be Miller and Greene.

i keep a close eye on our former players and whilst Val is having a good season and Jiri so so, poor old Ville played his 50th game of the season the other night and still hasnt scored!! His 12 helpers is his sum total to date. In 37 games ex Wing Matt Ellis has 3+2 on the Sabres roster.
-
In an ideal world Ericsson would be on the 3rd pair with Marchenko and we pick up a top guy to pair with Dekeyeser.

Your predictions for the roster heading into the offseason.

I got a gut feeling that Alfie will retire Legwand and Q will explore the market. Monster gets a year deal to back-up. Sammy is gone and Bert retires. Cleary now that is a difficult one to work out. To the fans Dan's legs have gone and although he has a big heart can he make a impact on a game? Kenny's and Babs loyalty will be tested to the limit on this decision but hopefully it won't hurt the team this time round. Dan hang's them up and gets a back room job after playing over 500 reg games and 100+ playoff games for the Wings. The Mule, well for all those bashing him and wanting him traded I can't see Kenny moving him, he is still producing at 0.75 ppg last season which is above his 0.61 ppg career average. If Kenny put him in the shop window would there be enough interested parties to make our return in any deal worthwhile? The only way i see the Wings getting anything of value was if he was packaged with other pieces in a multi trade deal. Which brings us onto Kindl, Lashoff and maybe Andersson. In my opinion all could be traded. Maybe a package deal of Franzen, Kindl, and Andersson to any interested party could get some sort of return, maybe try the Canucks for Edler and Kassian ?Lashoff has been what he is but we have guys who could be better in GR so trade for picks maybe. I would like to see Kenny go after some size for our 4th line and I have stated before either Foligno of Buffalo or Kassian of Vancouver would be solide adds, both would be better and play Glendening as their center. There are lots of puzzles to solve and moving Abbey off the top line and getting in a solid top 6 winger is a must. Do we promote Mantha and see how he goes on a line with Pav and Z ? A summer in the gym and Mantha coming to camp at a 6'5 225 Lb winger may be the answer. Zetterberg Datsyuk Mantha Abdelkader Weiss Nyqvist Tatar Helm Jurco Kassian Sheahan Foligno Miller Glendening Kronwall Edler Smith DeKeyser Ericsson Marchenko Ouellet Howard Gustavsson. -
i just thought that if our roster was fully fit and all the guys were in their prime days it wouldn't be too bad, in fact it could probably go all the way. this is what Kenny was probably thinking............. Zetterberg Datsyuk Alfredsson Samuelsson Legwand Bertuzzi Franzen Weiss Cleary Abdelkader Helm Tootoo Kronwall Ericsson DeKeyser Smith Quincey Kindl Howard Gustavsson

ZacK Kassian and Marcus Foligno would be good addition's are they FA's or RFA's this summer?

rumor of Salavet Yulaev Ufa putting in an offer to Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg for his services. I get the feeling this might be to see if the Redwings are really interested in him. From what i've seen of him he is worth a gamble on a 1 year contract, solid 2 way player who has represented Russia this year and looks like making the worlds roster too. ps, yes that is him in my profile pic #98

gdt ECQF - Game 5 - Red Wings at Bruins - 3:00 PM EST

well that was a playoff series none of us expected us to win and 95% of us never thought we'd get into. They kids got us in and after their success in the Calder last year this series has taught them what its all about in the big boys playoffs. It'll stand them in good stead for the future. We have probably seen Alfie's last game in the NHL tonight and also at least 4 as Redwings. The Bruins showed they are a good side, and also that big body's with skill usually prevail. I can't fault our guys for their effort just the better side won out. Roll on next year and hopefully some fresh faces with some size joining the roster. -

just having 1 R/H shot on the whole playing roster doesn't make it any easier either. -

crappy way to lose, puck got deflected twice before it hit DeK leg and went in. At the end of the day up 2 zip in front of your home fans should have ground it out. Sat, either we get blown away by 3 or 4 goals or the Bruins think they only gotta turn up and we catch them cold. -
Leon Draisaitl, being tipped to go in top 5 this draft
-
watching alot of hockey over here in the UK i get to see some players that have gone under the radar so to speak. I have listed players that i feel could get picked up via FA or actually get drafted. 1/ Dmitrl Orgurtsov , a huge 19yr old stay at home blueliner.KHL.If this lad doesn't get drafted this year then i'll pack up watching. 2/ Leon Draisaitl, a solid C come LW, this young German is currently playing in the WHL. 3/ Jonas Siegenthaler one for the future, this young 16 yr old D has already seen action in the Swiss top tier. At 6'2 and 218Ib he is still growing and dominates his own age group. 4/ Anton Karlsson, the young Swede is playing at the U20 worlds at present he is the younger brother of Carolina draft pick Erik, but he is bigger and looks to have a better projected outlook. So a few names to look out for, but my choice for the Wings would be the young Russian D Nikita Tryamkin, already producing in the KHL at 19.

we are what we are guys, a team that scraped the last playoff spot up against the President trophy winners and its showing. We stole game one in Boston and in all honesty it could be 3-0 and us playing to stay in it tomorrow. We need our biggest game of the year tomorrow start on time and try and get an early lead. Anyone on these boards who actually honestly believed the Wings would beat the Bruins over 7 games is real rose tinted homer who doesn't grasp the situation we are up against. I hoped we could take them to 6 games which would be the most our roster could attain in my opinion. Still could, but we have to start on time and get some bounces. Go back to the game 1 style that threw the Bruins off their game and hope we catch Rask on a bad night. The season in general has been better than we could have hoped for considering the injuries that have hit us, making the playoffs was a fete in its self, now there i hope the guys take the bull by the horn's and take it to the Bruins. Adding 2 or 3 of the right players in the offseason would make us a serious contender next year. -

just got in from work, are we being schooled as the game stats suggest? -
maybe its just me but the way some teams are over celebrating wining a single game in these p/o's is really puzzling. With a best of seven series I can understand the joyous relief when winning the 4th series clinching game but jeez to explode onto the ice after going one game to nil up is a tad over the top. The only team i haven't seen do this so far is? Yes thats right, stay classy Wings the only time to celebrate like that is when hoisting stanley.

the most interesting fact from this game is that Tatar led the team in hits, which says something i guess Kindl and Lashoff both didnt have any, which makes you think doesn't it. -

im afraid Jimmy set the tone for this game with that awful play for the first goal and it just went down hill from there. hey we came away with a split , we have gotta win tues for a chance to take it to 6 games i feel. -
