So by all accounts the general opinion seems to be let Qunicey walk and try and trade Kindl at the off season. saving $6.15m. Although Ericsson has played top line mins, in all honesty he is at best a 4/5 D. Unless we get a top 2 guy in, which in my view would be a trade as there's no one on the UFA list i would want as a top pairing guy, for age or performance issue's. My taking is that Kenny will go after Edler or Erhoff in the offseason as that guy. I would also try and bring Matt Greene home from LA as a shut down 3rd pairing guy. My veiw is that Lashoff will be passed by and put on waivers and the young Russian who has impressed me when ive watched GR Marchenko will be slotted in as the 7th D. Almqvist could be dealt in any deal to get the top guy we need, he puts up the numbers but im not sure he has the physical strength to go up against NHL forwards. So my version of how our back end could look next season is; Kronwall Edler/Erhoff DeKeyser Smith Greene Ericsson Marchenko Quincey lost to UFA Kindl traded or waived Lashoff waived.

the biggest need could well be some R/H players. Sammy is going to be gone, Glendening could be back at GR and if Alfie calls it a day we have no Righty's on the entire roster.

i did suggest we should have traded Howard for Miller but got flack. Jimmy is very inconsistent to say the least, I would have give Miller a 2 year deal for his home state team and Jimmy could have gone home to NY in Buffalo! Mrazek could back up Miller for 2 years and then take over full time. Monster is just to injury prone to be relied on. I still say trade Jimmy in the off season to get the top D would have to be in a package as the way he's played one for one wont get it done. No good being sentimental, if he struggles from now till the end of the season we need to move him on, if we have any takers.

Datsyuk, Legwand, Weiss and Helm when all are fit and fully tuned into the systems, thats one hellavu Center line up not many teams will match. I hope they both have good stints as Wings, and yes i do believe Legwand will re-sign on a 2 year deal. I for one am really excited to see next season's Wings roster come together, add another scoring winger ( or just go with Mantha? ) and a top D ( trade for one ) we could be back up where we belong.

P.K. Subban is a spectacular puck-moving defenseman who can take big influence on a game with his end-to-end rushes. Is a very good skater and is able to shake of fore-checking forwards with quick stops or sharp turns and decent puck-control. Possesses a hard and accurate slap-shot, which is especially on the power play a weapon. Battles hard on every shift, but discipline is an issue as he takes stupid and often badly-timed penalties.

im still saying that by xmas Mantha will be on the roster, if we can get that help on the blueline and everyone stays fit next year we could have a very strong line up. I mean Zetterberg Datsyuk Legwand and Weiss as the 4 centers looks unmatchable by any side.

i would say that Legwand will re-sign with us where as the others will test the UFA market in the summer. He has waived his NTC to come to the Wings so that tells me he wants to come here.

well its offical , we stood pat again. The Wings need to do some overhauling in the off season and im sure Kenny will. Im sort of glad he didnt sell the school to get Kesler but I would have thought he could have gotten Legwand. Im for having him here for longer, if Weiss comes good Legwand can anchor the 3rd line and leave the euro twins on the top line. Helm worries me, either he is pure unlucky or he's made of glass. Well we will need a superhuman effort to make it 23 years straight now, or is Kennys plan to bomb and have a chance at that lottery draft pick?

I try for Legwand in case Weiss is a no show as well, i mean we have our full 4 C's out at once, no team could cope with that injury list.
