we need more Russians on the team
-
the real problem with the Wings is this, before when our skill level wasnt getting it done we had the likes of Mac,Shan,Joey and Lapointe to shake it up and get the momentum swing we needed. We do still have a high skill level, but we are lacking in the other department. this roster doesn't need a complete overhaul but it does need a change of 3 or 4 personnel in key areas. hopefully we'll see this done in the off season by our GM, if not i think the owner may be having words.

Mr Ilitch isn't going to stand for this crap much longer, he'll be calling Kenny and Co into the office Sat morning for some heart to heart's!! Holland now is probably re-visiting all those so called trades he had in mind, this team needs a bonafide goalscorer badly, the shots we have put on net is unreal for the return weve had in goals. Now just imagine if that old goat Hull had have had 20% of those, this series would be over!

What are the odds of winning this series now?
Andy Pred 48 replied to LivoniaGrinder's topic in General
the chances of us progressing into the next round are about they same as Holland making some major moves this off-season! -
Bertuzzi Datsyuk Franzen 2 big bodies to create some space for pav Nyqvist Zetterberg Brunnstrom hopefully some Swedish chemistry Filppula Abdelkader Cleary good shut down line with scoring Miller Sheahan Conner speed and tenacity to boot. Lidstrom White Stuart Kronwall Ericsson Smith Howard Conklin.
-
so the Griffs season ends today. With Nyqvist, Conner and Sheahan already here who else apart from Smith will they bring into the situ? Its a pity that the Seadogs are still in the Q's playoffs as I would have called up Jurco to add some scoring threat out there!! No seriously thou, it looks like the Wings will sign Jurco to the Griffs next year and he WILL see time on the Wings as well.
-
Lids will wait and see what moves (if any) that Kenny makes this off season before making his mind up. I feel that he was expecting some extra troops in before this years deadline past but KH let him down. I would love him to go out in a blaze of glory but i cant see it happening this playoffs.

we like are team and there is nothing out there that is value for $s we feel would make us any better! in case anyone is getting carried away by the coming off season additions Kenny is going to make!! -
first of all if the Wings lose to the Hawks do we slip to 6th spot? if so, we could end up playing one of 3 teams in the Kings, Sharks or Yotes. would these be a better situ than facing the Preds?
-
i suppose it dont matter who we get, you gotta beat them all to win it i guess. so bring on the Preds.
-
has he picked up an injury as i havent seen him play the past few games?
-
as long as we throw an $8m offer sheet at Karlsson and see what the Sens do, I think we are ok with what we have. Smith is going to be on the team next year, Stuy is gone, maybe Kindl will be used in a deal think Lids will stay one more year. Then maybe we go after Weber next off season. Not sure about the Quincey situ thou, he's still only 26 but is on $3.125m so its a tricky one. My preffered D core when Lids is gone; Weber Kronwall Smith Karlsson Nikitin Emelin
-
Kennys gotta get Pav a scoring winger in the off, pref a countryman !
-
looks like most of the roster is staying outta trouble and not getting in a position to get injured, well i hope that is the reason for this performance so far. lets not get shut out on home ice by the Panthers thou guys eh
-
so Dats and Nyqvist work their buts off while Mule floats about like a frigging sat morning park skater!!
-
3+8 in 4 p/o games and a +6 rating. i still feel that Tvrdon is going to be a major player for the Wings down the line as well.
-
If Babs is going to give Nyqvist 5mins a game now, he may as well keep Mursak in and let Gustav go back and help GR try to get in their playoffs. That is a total waste of offensive talent being mis-managed. If we want to get our playoff lines running then fair enough, send the kid back to the Griffs and get on with it.

The reason The Wings shipped Mike Commodore
Andy Pred 48 replied to Wing Across The Pond's topic in General
slowly but surely the Wings are stacking up on top skilled D-men, ready for when Lids hangs em up. Smith,Xavier Ouellet,Ryan Sproul,Nick Jensen and lets not forget Alexei Marchenko who is my tip to be the real steal of last years draft. Then theres the 2 Swede's in Almqvist and Backman who are panning out better than where they were drafted. Plenty of potential skill for the blueline here im sure youll agree. Well what about some steal and grit to go with these skilled guys when Stuy and Kronner are no longer about? Young Lashoff in GR is starting to get looked at more as a shut down guy, then theres the raw talent of the big Czech Richard Nedomlel who put up some big numbers in his sphomore season with the Bronco's, yet the Wings drafted him mainly for his toughness and size, at 6'4" and 227lb at 18 and getting bigger, maybe we have another rough diamond in the making! Not sure where young Max Nicastro is at present, so i cant really comment on him until all is resolved with his situation. Although some have said he isnt progressing as expected. So DeKeyser is going back to college, which i feel is the right choice by him, if he has indicated to Ken that he wants to join the Wings org. Which isnt beyond the realms of fact, so if true then the Wings look pretty well stocked up on all aspects of the D for years to come. -
not gunna happen today folks, just by watching and how we are on top, Emery is having a blinder
-
cheers, that could be worrying.

has Kindl picked up a knock only under 2 mins of ice in the 1st?

your all forgetting about what will be the steal of last years draft, Alexei Marchenko. He's back on the ice after having his knee sorted out, hopefully he'll get back to his old self pretty quick, already been called back up to his KHL side CSKA after a few games with the jnr set up.
