theyll need him down there Aus to replace Nyquist who will be coming the other way, and he will stay.

our plan is to tank for the next 3 years and get stocked up on high talent, just like the Pens did to get Whitney, Fleury, Malkin, Crosby and Staal!! Nail Yakupov will do for me next draft : )

Will Babs have the ba##s to sit one of his top 6 guys for tonights game? Maybe Cleary needs to sit and re-group, I really do think the loss of Mursak has hit us on the chk line. Helm Eaves and Mursak is one line we could do with right now. I cant see Babs changing too much he's gunna give his vets more time yet, i dont know how long but we could start another 5 game win streak tonight so i hope so. I would suggest giving Cleary a broadcast seat and handing Brunnstrom some top 6 mins. We dont want to make the same mistake with him as we did with Leino. The kid aint a chk line player, so dont use him on it, use his skill for a few games with Hank and mule maybe? Franzen Zetterberg Brunnstrom Eaves Datsyuk Hudler Bertuzzi Filpulla Helm Miller Abdelkader Emmerton Sit Cleary and Babs has stated that Homer wont play back to back. Lidstom Kronwall White Stuart Ericsson Kindl. Howard

Pearce gets lit up. The Griffins were on the wrong side of an 7-2 scoreline at Rochester on Sunday evening. Despite going toe to toe on the shots tally,32-32 the Griffins couldnt put more than 2 past the Americans former Griffins goalie Drew MacIntyre. At the other end Pearce had a night he would sooner forget giving up all 7 goals, but it wasnt just goalie who had an off night as all the Griffins skaters except the impressive Nyquist, Exelby and Ferraro ended the night with a minus stat. The young Swede keeps up his point per game ratio with a goal and Conner also chipped in with an assist on both goals making him the only other Griffin with a point in all 3 games. Tatar scored the other goal to make it a 1 goal game at 2-3 but the Americans then hit 4 unanswered tallies giving the final score a rather lob sided view. Just over 3500 were at the Blue cross arena to witness their team double their goal tally for the season. The Griffins next game is tuesday in Hamilton to face the Bulldogs, lets hope they fare a bit better.

10/1 Exhibition GDT: Red Wings at Toronto Maple Leafs

just shows their overall knowledge in Leaf nation, their bitter about Brunnstrom's play and the fact he could get picked up by their bitter rivals at a fraction of what they were paying him. -
we look like we have a very young team with 4 or 5 vets helping out. Should be a speedy team with lots of skill but lacking a touch of toughness. Exelby will help out Amadio at the back with grit, but up front we seem to be short. Callahan is a middle weight agitator we dont have a heavy which may hurt us.Michael Pelech is on a try out, he can go with the big boys but isnt an out and out fighter. Its not as if the Wings have anyone they can send down to GR either.Anyone know where Brandon Straub signed this year? Hopefully the fans will be entertained by a fast slick style of hockey, Johnson and Minard need to up the anti this year and support the likes of Tatar and Nyquist and Pare. I think the dark horse this year in the scoring department is going to be Willie Coetzee. Good luck Griffs

the hit was very unfortunate on both parts. Brendan couldnt predict what move Ben was going to make as he lined him up and Ben also made the cardinal sin on the move. When I started to play, my coach's last words as I stepped onto the ice for my first shift,"keep your head up" still ring in my ears today. Maybe with all the rule changes players are becoming less accountable for their own well being whilst on the ice. This is what Babs was trying to say when asked about the incident. I think Brendan will learn from this but also feel the suspension a little harsh as well. I hope the AHL boss will let him serve the suspension whilst in GR, as he'll not get called up if not.
-
can anyone predict what our roster is gunna be for the Sens? with guys getting injured and suspension's coming we could have a very different opening day roster than we expected. Still a week away and with our luck we could lose another guy or 2 (sshhh)!! If we went today what would yours be? Howard Conklin Lids White Kronwall Ericsson Kindl Janik Exelby Franzen Zetterberg Filpulla Holmstrom Datsyuk Hudler Bertuzzi Helm Brunnstrom Eaves Abdelkader Miller Nyquist I would be tempted to thro Nyquist in and sit one of Miller/Holmstrom.

well after having his best year last year with 24+16 in 44 league games he now leads his league in goals with 5 goals and 1 helper in the first 4 games of the KHL season. At the age of 28 has he finally got back on track? Yes you guessed it, Grigs looks like he is somewhere near his predicted level made all those years ago. If only he hadnt got in that car.

9/25 Pre-Season GDT: Chicago Blackhawks at Red Wings
Andy Pred 48 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
so who's voting for Nyquist for the 14 forward? hell how about in as the 12th forward now because of jan's bad luck. -
ive said it before, Fabian will be Hommers replacement. maybe a year in GR and then up
-
is Samsonov partaking in the camp?
-
familiar pattern thou, outplayed the Wild 48-24 in shots. Goalies getting outplayed?
-
i see Fabian has said he would accept any sort of contract the Wings org offered him, i still think he'll get a 2 year 2 way deal with the scond year a one way, spend some time in GR with a few call ups then next season he'll be Homers replacement.

lee Stempniak goes the other way

with Kenny actually looking at the possability of adding a top 6 forward at the start of the free agency,is there any ufa's left who still interest the front office? Could the Wings send an invite to anyone for the camp, or who would you like us to invite to camp.
-
did anyone see Ryno play any of those games for the Griffs back in 07-08? I remember a picture at the start of a camp game with him in the line up he just looked massive next to the others and im sure big E was near him too.
-
you cant compare him to Grigs. His car accident did for him. Detroit would have had a special player had it not been for that day 16 may 2003. Axelsson needs to grow up pretty quick, but i feel that the front office have already given up on him. 20 years down the line Dick is gunna be sitting thinking what if! and really truly will be a 'dick' for throwing it all away.
-
okay so we are going to camp soon and we hear it year after year about the best players making the team. So say this year that Smith,Tatar and the tryout Brunnstrom really do tear camp up and then have a great exhibition series. Does anyone on here actually believe that they will make moves to get them on the roster and who would the casualties most likely be? I know that alot of fans agree with having our prospects mature and progress in the A, but should we make exceptions if any truly do stand out. Smith and Tatar would surely be on most other teams roster's already, so are we missing a trick by not promoting these guys sooner. Im just using Smith annd Tatar as examples for the case, any of the prospects could come in and do really well, i think that Nyquist will be a dark horse this year. We'll wait and see, i just think that the same old excuses will be made to keep the status quo.
