Also a -3 smiffy , still hopefully he'll grow into his role and be a ppg player this season.

Frk will get on the roster and given some games until lil Bert is back healthy, then it'll be interesting. My question is the so called set in stone 8D, Sproul only got a little over 11 mins toi last night which wasn't really a great showcasing effort on Blashills part and both Sulak and Hronek played well. Maybe Sproul is going again tonight and was used sparingly because of of it or he picked up a knock I don't know but I do know that there are others knocking on the door for D spots.

ok so after tonight's game and from what ive seen, Booth gets the nod over PA P, Booth looks like he wants it more PA coughed up the puck numerous times. Sulak looks very promising looked strong on his skates broke a few plays up and took his goal well. If Big Ras was 10lbs heavier i think he'd be a legit roster contender, although i doubt the powers to be will go that route. Hronek looks like he could turn into a top 3/4 guy for us and i gotta feeling that Street is getting a real good look at by the front office.

anybody seen how McKee has been performing for the Blues?
-
if Booth is over his Concussion issues and plays hard then he'd be a decent 8-12 guy and PA has the tools to come in and put up 30-35 points on the top 9. On the other hand id sooner get Svech up full time with little Bert than sign guys that will keep them in GR another year. This roster will struggle to make the post season so id rather have the kids get 50-60 games under their belts which will help in the long run.

no news at all over in the KHL about AA signing for any team at the moment.

Lets take a look at the current situation regarding the D men signed within the 3 tier system. At present the Red Wings have got 10 D signed (inc Witkowski) , only Sproul and Green have one year left on their contracts. So if we say we are going to carry 7 D on the roster this season 3 are to be sent down. I am going to hazard a guess and say only 2 will be as Witkowski will likely be playing more as a 13th fwd. I see these being Russo and Sproul. Russo is waiver free , but I dont think Sproul is. So lets say both go down to GR who have got 9 D on their current roster. Which now will be 11, shall we say that GR will go the same way as the Wings and carry 7 D. Of these, 5 are returning from the Calder Cup winning roster so you would assume they were locks for GR plus young prospects Hronek and Saarijarvi were signed to go to GR to speed up their learning, but GR have signed 2 new D just to AHL contracts so it starts to get abit tricky. This doesnt allow for one of the young signings/prospects to outperform and steal a roster spot, ie Sulak or Cholowski. If Sproul doesnt get claimed ( unlikely) he must surely be on GRs roster too. This will have the Wings with 1st Daley DeKeyser 2nd Green Kronwall 3rd Ericsson Jensen spare Ouellet. Russo Sproul sent to GR. Grand Rapids now have a great choice of D. If we go along the lines of all returning players are a sure fire bet the Griffins could be as follows; 1st Russo Renouf 2nd Sproul Hicketts 3rd Lashoff McIlrath spare Tansey/McCarron. Saarijarvi and Hronek dont get a look in, off to Toledo. Sulak goes off to play for his Finish side. Problem here is that Hronek really impressed the top brass in his stint in GR last year and i would be more surprised if he didnt stay in GR. Toledo have got 5 D signed so far so a couple of additions from GR would suit them. Sproul is the key here , if he doesn't clear waivers then the pieces fit in a little better, id say Tansey swaps places on the GR roster with him. This is of course only viable if everyone is fit at the start of the season, a couple on IR would solve a few problems for Kenny, but i would love for Sulak and Hronek to perform so well that they have to keep them at least in GR. Whichever happens GR look good on the back end for next year.

yeah its been confirmed on the Elite prospects site their pretty uptodate

has anyone actually thought that this has been worked between Kenny and AA? Go play in the K for a year help us out with our current cap issues, then I can give you a decent pay rise in 18-19 when ive got a ton of $s off the books !
-
looks like my worries could come true!!
-
If he continues in the same vein as last year we'll be seeing him at the Joe before too long. Very impressive stats in his AHL career so far. Pl 77 pts 42 +45 if he keeps that up he will be hard not to be given a shot.
-
I'm a little puzzled as to why Wings/GR still haven't inked Russo ? The guy has been tremendous for Griffins in his first 2 seasons and had a tidy stint with the Wings when called up. With both the rosters currently having signed 17/18 D between them I'm hoping he isn't surplus to requirements as this would be a bad non signing in my view.
-
So are we trading Ericsson then?
-
I'm tending to go down the line that Kenny isn't confident of keeping AA and Booth is a Cheap option with plenty NHL exp to fill the void.
-
Callahan is in the Oilers organization now.
-
Home town boy to finish off career in Detroit. Not sure what's going on here unless Kenny has a few deals lined up and make us all eat crow!!
-
so with trg camp almost here, will we here the same old spiel from the coaching staff that the best players will play and then see any player that has outplayed a vet be sent down? Or will we see a changing in attitude and maybe someone will stick around after a good camp. I would hope that those that do perform are given a chance and any vet that has gone all summer thinking he just needs to show up for his roster spot given a kick up the arse by being sent to GR. On that point do we actually think we have any rookies or prospects that could give the coaching staff food for thought by blowing them all away in camp?
-
Libor Sulak Czech international from the Austrian league.
-
Or send them Ericsson!?
-
Pittsburgh are after a 3rd line C still can Kenny convince them to take one of our surplus C'men?
-
so we don't what a player back who was our leading +- on D and on course to be 2nd/3rd overall in points on a team that struggled with the D it did retain. I agree hes not flashy, and lets be honest isn't going to be a top point producer in the main but he is responsible in his own end is a good positional player and knows the systems. Better than what we have at present? open to debate but id rather have him than a couple we do have, still it'll be irrelevant when Kenny snags Butcher!!
-
trade him for glendog
-
well Lidstrom but i guess you meant him Chris
