Are we ever likely to see this guy over here, he had a bad year with injuries last year. The 08-09 season was a sort of break one for him in the KHL.
-
Wings will sign 3 or 4 vets to add to the roster to keep the rookies in line, maybe even Maltby?
-
Pasha is centering a line with Frolov and Kovulchuk on his wings, food for thought kids. they combine for Russia's opening goal!!
-
I just wish Kenny had worked a deal to have kept Hossa here, Im sure he could have done tinkering here and there to have kept him.
-
Well, Ville does it agian, sweet move on Halak for the 2nd goal. Can't keep this up, can he?
-
The Wings old draft pick Jamtin getting thrown in the box at the end.

I think that the Germans can be really proud of the way they played. Although overall the Russians looked better on the puck, but tended to over pass it (sounds familiar). Dats totally out foxed the keeper with the gwg, as he was looking to pass all the way into goal until the last second when he let his wrist shot go. Good game, now for the old foe in the Czechs, back to the 80's!!
-
hi ya buddy, just got to say that your Danes really opened a few eyes with their play in the championships. I think the Russians really want this bad, and have by far the most loaded roster in the tourny. Can you remember a netminder called Jan Jensen? he played for my local side here in the Uk back in 98-99 season. He played alot of years for Esbjerg, and was the Danish national goalie.

all done Russia (5-2) will face the Germans who beat the Swiss 1-0 and the Czech's will play Sweden
-
AFINOGENOV has just gone after OTT, get it done Kenny!!
-
Pasha scores Russia's 2nd on the PP helper from Kovy, (whishful thinking of things to come)!!
-
Im happy for Ville that he's doing well for his new team. The whole goalscoring tag he seems to have bestowed on him by some on here is a bit puzzling thou. He was never an out and out goal scorer before he came here. His Finnish career was 69 goals in 294 games,a further 136 assists with a +66 rating seems more like a poor mans Datsyuk type player than a Brett Hull goal machine.
-
so on that basis, all the fast forwards should fly past him with the extra ice and he'll end up having a crap tourny with a -10 rating by the end? works both ways don't ya think?
-
Big E picks up the player of the game for Sweden.......maybe he's getting his confidence back 2 assists and +2 with 17+mins of i/t
-
Well he sure seems to be running the Flyers PP lately, I wonder if Kenny thought of off loading Williams when he had to make the choice?
-
well someone passed to Pasha as he gets a hatrick plus a helper as the Russians down Denmark 6-1. Pavs 3rd is a sick ps! Big E assists on the Swedes 2nd goal as they take a 3 zip lead into the 3rd over Canada.

Swiss 3-2 up over Czechs! aint it refreshing watching a game where the refs let the players play oopps spoke to soon
-
anyone learning any Russian with the commentary?

I did a topic about Watson and another Michigan lad, Jared Knight when they were rookies in the OHL. Knight is smaller than Watson but he has improved greatly and had a good playoff campaign with the London Knights. Im all for getting local guys in the Wings org, maybe Kenny could trade up the pick and get Fowler!!
-
Kabanov seems to have dropped out of the top 30, maybe the Wings could pick him up in the 2nd round he has some great upside, just needs a guiding steady hand. Maybe Pasha could do the job.
-
I know its a step up from the AHL, but Kindl and Ericsson played alot together in the 08+09 season in GR. Both these guys could crack top 4 D so having them work it out on the 3rd pairing isnt going to be such a bad thing. Plus Kindl has far more upside than Meech/Lebda and also alot more size. Add into that that Smith will be in GR's next season with another of the rookies, Lashoff who has looked the part each time he has played for the Griffins. Smith may even get a look in with the big club for a couple games next season, I can only see him spending one year in the AHL, too much talent to leave in the A any longer. and lets not forget the sleeper in the pack, if this kid puts on some weight we could have another gem on our hands,Adam Almqvist.

Norway beat Czech Rep 3-2 !! Czech's outshot Norway 46-15, first win for Norway over Czech Rep since 1937!! Touted FA ZuccarelloAssen scores first goal for Norway. Russia beat Kazakstan 4-1 Kovie Ovie Semin and Grebeshkov(UFA)with goals for the Russians.
-
