I understand Babs reasoning, but at the same time I am feeling for the Griffs as they are down 2 of their top 4 scorer's for their game tonight and one of them isn't even icing for the Wings. I guess thats the way the cookie crumbles sometime. It does seem as thou Kopecky is being showcased just lately with his increased ice time and pk time. With Z back tonight we'll see if this continues or not, if it does I say Kenny has a trick up his sleeve prior the deadline.

so who is Babs gunna sit tonight? Kopecky 5-4 on Maltby Evens Draps 6-1 Leino 10-1 Dats 10000-1

Every one seem's to think the kid Helm has some real speed, but who is the fastest player on the Wings roster? And who would you say is the fastest player in the NHL? I noticed that Kindl was on the AHL all star fastest lap comp, have we got someone coming up that could rival Lebda as the quickest D man. Whats your views on who are the real speed demons in the league.

I think when your skating on a line with 2 of the best your bound to look a bit off. I thought he did well for his first game, he def has the tools to do some damage on the scoreboard, hopefully he'll get some more games in, before he gets sent back, on Pasha's line. Im sure he's already pencilled in for next year's roster. To be honest, I would have him on Pavs line and put Homer on the 4th, and use Homer on the 1st PP unit. That is where Homer does most of his damage anyway, and lets be honest, Homer ain't the best skater out there either.

Was doing some number crunching and maybe Kenny has a cunning plan to keep Hossa here along the same lines as Z. The only draw back would be the amount offered to Marian. Lets not forget he left a big deal on the table from the Oil to sign for us last year. I'm thinking along the lines of a Z type deal. With the unwritten law of no one earns more than the Capt, Kenny offers Hossa a 10yr $50m deal. The first 5 years @ $7.4m and then $5m, $3m, $3m, $1m and $1m. At 30yr Hossa is hitting his prime so the next 5yr should be some of his best. The last 2 yrs of his deal at $1m each doesn't sound much but he will be 39 and seen his best. The cap hit of $5m would help Kenny, and dare I say with some minor tweaks to the roster also help to re-sign Mule. Just a thought.

Unless you are going thru your old programme's boys, the fact that you have put names down on this list indicates that in fact you haven't forgotten them!

Leino will not be on the 4th line guys. His talent is needed elsewhere and he would be wasted on that line. He'll be on the 2nd or 3rd line at least next year. Its all about the cap issue guys. No good getting carried away with who we should have playing where when it isn't possable to do at present. Once the deadline has past we'll see what Babs asks for from the front office and that'll indicate whos gunna be here next year.

Not sure he'll ice tonight but he's def starting v the Caps on Sat.

Once this season is over the Wings will offer Ville a contract, no question. He is their sort of player. Both parties knew the situation at the start of the year and hats off to Leino for staying. He could have gone back to Finland before xmas if he wanted. I'm sure he has had long chats with Flip and he also has has lengthy conversations with Zetta, so he knows where he wants to be I'm sure. He's had a mid season slump, but I expect him to put that behind him and kick on from here. Ville Leino, RedWing 09-10!! odds on bet.

Just a little insight into the word Vodka. Spell this out on your mobile phone in pre-text and see what you get, ok. Should we be worried by the answer guys?
-
he's over rated guys, all the teams will not pick him and we'll end up with him in the draft!

If the Wings buy out any players contract, does it still count against the cap for the season or remainder of the players contract. ie; said player has a 3 yr deal still remaining @ $1.5m per year. does the org take a 1 year hit at $4.5m or do they get hit for the $1.5m for season's 09-10,10-11 and 11-12? Just thought that this may be a option for them. Many thanks Andy.

Theres nothing to be done with Flip. He's on course for 35-40 points this year which is what he got last year. Just he's up on assist's and down on his goals. Like someone has stated, how many other sides will have a 3rd line C getting that many points? We will probably see him move up a line next season anyhow's. His salary will be seen as a bargain before it transpire's, much like we have been paying Hank for his production the past few years, who knows if we will see Flip putting up #'s way above his salary value? Time will tell. Trading him now is not in the best interest for the Wings.

Just when the NHL seems to be getting its act together, along comes the poisoned dwarf to put it down again. If it wasn't bad enough by the way the ASG teams were selected, this rule really does beggar belief. To really piss the dwarf off I wish Babs would 'ring in sick' tonight as well.

I recall an interview with Holland on the radio a couple of weeks back were he stated that next year will see 3 or 4 guys coming to the team from Grand Rapids. Which guys he didn't say but you can all sumise who the are. My headscratcher is who is going out the door. I got a funny feeling that Hossa might get the nod over Franzen and Sammy staying.

Ty Conklin DET 22 16 5 1 616 48 2.21 568 .922 5 Chris Osgood DET 24 15 3 5 658 77 3.23 581 .883 0 At present there are 45 N/M that have seen time in the NHL. All have played over 15 games. The current standings for GAA has Ty at #6 and Oz at #42 just in front of old prospect Joey MacDonald who has made nearly double the amount of saves. In the Sv% table Ty is at #9 and Oz is #44, second from bottom, in fact the bottom 3 all have the same .883 % rating. Its only stats I know but, these are worrying ones for the Wings coaching staff however you look at it. Loyalty is one thing but business is business and if you can't do the business then measure's need to be taken.

I'm not jumping on any bandwagon, but if Babs needs to go with a hot hand in net I'm sure he will. Sorry Oz not all were down to u. 5th goal was Stuart not making his decsion quick enough, he had time to step up and save Flip the chase back he didn't do it.He makes that play and we are still 4-4 and for the most part looked the better side in general. Still 11 goals against the "best team" in 2 ain't bad! Although we have lost the game I think we have made a statement, in fairness I feel for our forwards tonight as they played well and didn't get any rewards for their efforts. Although 7 pts from Z, Dats and Hoss, helps their own point tallies. So our big guns showed up tonight. Mr Thornton was held pointless which means we did something right. Just back to the drwaing board on D and in net. Now I wonder if Mr Holland has a cunning plan?
-
Yeah it was Shelley, but whos gunna go with him on our roster? Like to see Mule get Joe at it thou.
-
GUYS IT WASN'T LEBDA THAT TOOK THE NET OFF IT WAS FLIP!
