Well i think with Grigs coming over it would be a good move to get Morozov as well. Put these 2 on a line with Dats and I think we could have a very explosive line. Wouldn't hit the coffers too much either. Grigs will be a direct replacement for Calder, who I'd be surprised we'd keep. Morozov could take Langs spot on the roster and be cheaper too. We may come out of this with monies left over too. Worth looking at I would have thought.

I think the org has higher hopes of his fellow countryman DANIEL LARSSON, probably why they didn't offer Liv more than a year.

WCF Game 5 (5/20): Ducks @ Red Wings, 3pm ET

just want to wish the boys good luck for tonight. Will be at work so won't know the score till i get home.....aaahhh!!! May have to sneek into the boss'es office and go on NHL.com..... big 3 periods of Wings hockey should see us do the business. -
Anyone got any pictures of the guys beards this year? I see most of them are having them.

Why is it that you have to be 20yrs old to play in the AHL yet you can play in the NHL at 17 if your good enough. Just been puzzeling me for ages, GR could have a good side next year if this wasn't so as we have some great young prospects who could really benefit from playing a couple years there instead of in the WHL/OHL leagues.

Pavs got a winger coming in next year in the shape of Grigs. I think if we re-sign Bert, put him with them, that could be a very explosive 2nd line.

Ducks get the last change, so spliting up Pav and Hank is a good thing. Gives the Ducks more to think about. I would keep Hank on the top line with 2 of his countrymen, Hommer one and then either Franz/Sammy. Could we go along the lines of having Pav centre Lang and Bert? Could be the move to ignite both of those guys. Not so sure about spliting up the Draps Malts and Dan line, they have been very good for us. Could be a mistake. That leaves Flip to centre a line of Kopecky and Sammy or Franz? Ermm, the choice is Babs lets hope he gets it right. good luck tonight boys. Nick this one and put the pressure back on the Ducks.

This series will come down to personal battles on the ice and I see the biggest 2 will be down to keeping the rejuvenated Teemu off the scoresheet and nulifying the inlfuence of Pronger. This is where the signing of Bert hopefully will pay off. He is due a big series and I hope that its this one. Bert isn't going to log the ice that Pronger is but when he is out there with him I hope he lets the blueliner know he ain't at no ice dance and gets him hurrying his plays. A Pronger with time on the puck will hurt ya, lets not give him that luxury. In the Selanne case, plain and simple, Markov has to check the crap out of him. With no Kronner it'll be down to Dani to stop the Finnish flash. Maybe the Pain train could help out as he sure has upped his play in the post season thats for sure. There will be many battles out there, but if the Wings can win these 2 we'll have a great chance in this series, I love the fact that most of the press have written us off before the first puck is dropped. The Ducks may have a better top 2 lines but our depth on the 4 forward lines could just tip the balance, lets hope our patched up D can repeat the last 2 performance's. Cheli is a freak, the dude is just awesome.

I'm calling it now, if Rex ain't in for Calder for game 3 then the playing of an injured Kyle is going to cost us. We need 4 lines flowing against this Ducks side and getting less than 4 mins from one of your top 6 guys is not helping the team. You can say what ya want but I called for this change before tonights game and I'm not saying it would have made a difference to the score, as we gave up 4 eq goals and it was the special teams that got our 3. But we ain't helping ourself's by doing it. Lets hope we can split it in Pondland and come back all square next Sunday. maybe our luck will be back with us for game 3.

I gotta feeling that Flip is gunna do the business.................

come on Bert do something
-
come on guys lets dig deep boys
-
Problem being were are upagainst the best D corp in the NHL. Just gotta work our butts off and hope for some breaks.
-
Well done to Stevie Y and Team Canada on winning the gold. The only reason they won was because all the best European players are still in the post season !!!!
-
We gotta keep the rubber away from Dom a bit more than game 1, It only takes a lucky deflection and hey you know what happens. Maybe us not getting away so many shots on the ducks worked in our favour as JS was probably cold. Close call, Wings score first we'll hang on for the W. We can't give the Ducks the same start as we gave the Sharks.

I know this has been brought up previously but I am getting a little concerned about his lack of ice time. The coaching staff have said there is nothing wrong with him and Kyle has stated that as well. But less than 5 mins in what was a big game by one of our tradeline signings is telling me all is not what it seem's. He never even saw the ice in the 3rd, has Babs lost confiedence in him or is that hand being proteceted and given more rest before fridays game? If Kyle has an injury I would sooner us use a fit Rex until he is ok to go. I understand giving a rookie less than 5 mins in a big playoff game but its got me puzzled with Calder, thats now less than 16mins in the last 3 games, Rex was given just under 30 mins in 3 vSJ, maybe we may see a roster change on Fri?

Another 4 mins last night? Either way something is wrong, if they don't want Rex in cause of his size lets get someone in who is healthy. Ellis could do a job or is Kopecky ready? I would have Rex, one half chance falling his way could be a game winner for us, still lets see how it pans out for game 2. No scapegoat thread either, just genuine concern for a guy who's better than his current status. A full on Calder is what we all want.

Someone remind me how old Cheli is! The guy is a freak, keep it going guys big PK coming up............
-
Yes, and your point is what exactly?
-
Kindl and Quincey are a future #2 pairing if not a potential top pair in a couple of years or so, I see no reason keeping them in GR if they have the tools to do a job next year. Better they log 40 odd games in Detroit next season getting great tutoridge off Cheli and Lids. Will do them more help than logging the time in GR, cause after next year I doubt wether our #5 and #24 will be here, then it'll be them who the Wings will be looking to.

At this rate we'll have the 2009 D playing in the 07 series!!!

Pre-GAME 4 (5/2): Red Wings @ Sharks - 10 PM ET
Andy Pred 48 replied to aflac9262's topic in General
Simple really. Dom is keeping them at 2 gpg, its time our offence cranked it up a gear, a win tonight will swing the momentum big time in our favour. A loss is not on the menu guys, play 3 solid periods of Wings hockey and no team can live with you. -
I hope we don't take our regular season form over to Cali for the next 2 games! I still can't get over checking the score that night seeing we were 3 zip up in 11 mins, and when I got up found out we had not only blown the lead but had been blown away 9-4!! Now I don't think for one minute that this will happen but I'm trying to see how we are going to approach these 2 games, will we throw the gaunlet down and come out all guns blazing and try and catch the Sharks on the hop like they have done to us or will we play a more patient game and bide our time, I will be happy to come back at 2's and the series split, will either Hommer or Lebs be back for the trip West?
