Yeah, him and Mursak look like being our best offensive prospect's. Helm looks made for the role of penalty kill specialist with some offensive upside. Mursak is just pure speed and skills, needs to bulk up a little but Emmerton could be a future franchise player.

The only thing stopping Kindl making the roster next year is him bombing in camp! More for the older fans here, Garry Unger finished his playing career over here in the UK playing for my local senior side the Peterborough Pirates in the late 80's. He was in his 40's but what a classy guy and player. Met him on a few occasion's after games. Also ex 1st round pick Mike Blasidell played for the Nottingham Panthers over here in the mid 90's met him at the playoff finals in '95.

Another thread mentioned what'll happen when Sammy is back, but a couple more weeks down the line when all his roster could be available to him coach Babs has a few tough calls to make. Not only who gets scratched but how to balance the lines out as well. The general opinion on the boards seem's to be that we should leave the top line as it is. So how will Babs deal with the other 3 lines? The D seem's to be pretty much set with Lilja being the 7th blueliner. Lang could well have a field day in the playoff's again with Calder and Bertuzzi as his new wingers, this would give us the players to have a more scoring threat on the 3rd line and the 2/3 left of the old grindline probably being the 4th checking line, but who fills in where? My guess is that Hudler is gunna be the unlucky 13th forward more often than not but Babs may surprise us all and scratch someone we wouldn't expect. Samuelsson could be the guy, he isn't the type to play on the 4th line persay and with Cleary having a better, shall we say, work ethic he could get the nod for 3rd line wing duties over Sammy. The coach holds Filppula in high regard and I see the rookie keeping his place and maybe centrering the 3rd line as well. All will be more clearer in the weeks ahead but with the 2 new guys coming in all of a sudden our team looks that much better and dare I say more equipped for a longer run at Stanley this year.

Wonder if Holland will make a play for Nolan in the off-season, or did he see him as that extra depth for a run at the cup this year? At 35 yo I think possably the later but thats life i guess.

Looks like he is making steady progress as a Griff now. He signed from the Toledo Storm and moved up to the Griffs with Wings prospect McGrath. Had a natural hat trick last night in the road loss to the Crunch. He has 5+3 in 11 outings for the Griffs so far and has been kept on by the coaching staff.

Please do not jump to conclusion's over one's Log in name Crymson, I am a Redwing fan for the past 20+ years. I play for my local team which are called the Predators, hence my login name. Yes you do make some valid point's about our top line's current form, but never try to pre- guess what a coach may or maynot do or have you forgotten Scotty's method's already? I know that circumstance's have intervened, but would you have bet that Filppula would by playing on the top line this year? I'll have $5 with you on the 10'000-1 topline split before the playoffs start thou

I gotta feeling that when Bert comes in he'll be on the top line. Homer will be used more as a powerplay guy and 2nd liner, will be interesting to see how the line's pan out when everyone is healthy and Babs may see it different than the rest of us. Will he split up Hank and Dats ?
-
Well our ex-prospect had a great game the day after we sent him to the Panthers in the Bertuzzi trade. His Belleville side thrashed Kingston 9-3 and he helped himself to 1+4 on the night. On another note last years tryout Tyler Donati had 2+2 in the game and currently sit's joint top in the scoring charts with 53+70 in 61 games with a +8 rating.

Well its now 17 games since the Capt got #199 and the next game v the Hawks is gunna burst a bubble or 2 if he lights the lamp. So far this year he hasn't scored againts the Chicago team in 5 games but has a point per game. Will he beat Schneids to the 200 as Mathieu sits at 198. Could both of them do it on Fri night, would be good if we have both hit the landmark in the same game. Where's your money going on this one then guys? ps. I know it should read 'drought' but I've got a cold one in my hand!!
-
Looks like Murray Zubrus or Blake then guys..............
-
See he's asked the Caps for a 5yr deal worth $17m, if the Caps scoff at that I say lets try and pick him up. He's having his best production year so far although his +- is not to hot, then again the Caps ain't having a good year. We have picked up a LW in Calder so a RW in Zubrus would give us more depth were we need it most.
-
Not sure if I hear right, but I'm certain that his name is being touted as available. Now if so, he is a big scoring winger who played with Lang with the Caps. Maybe there is a possability of pairing them up again and helping out the 2nd line as well. Don't think he brings that needed 'grit' but he's still only 28 and may not cost as much as the others being looked at.

IF BOTH WILLY AND LANG ARE STILL HERE COME NEXT WED, WE GOT PROBS FOR THE RUN TO THE CUP, LETS TRADE ONE OF THEM KENNY!!!
-
REF IS A FECKING RETARD, SAYS HE BLEW CAUSE HE LOST SIGHT OF THE PUCK, YEAH ITS IN THE NET YOU MOORON
-
Guerin and Laraque would be a nice pick up, but who would we have to give up to get them?
-
Well, looks like he lasted 14 games for SC Langnau and now they are moving him on. Was shipped to EV Zug yesterday for whatever reason's. Has this guy got a attitude problem or is it an ego thing? I may be wrong but this is his 4th team, if you count the Wings, he has been with this year. The guy has talent; just read his CV from his jnr days and its pretty impressive: Named to AJHL All-Star first team (1998-99) Won Rookie of the Year award (1998-99) Named to Hockey East All-Rookie team (1999-00) Named to NCAA Final Four All-Tournament team (2000-01) Named to Hockey East All-Star first team (2000-01) Named to NCAA (East) All-American second team (2000-01) Played in NHL YoungStars game (2001-02) if he had buckled down earlier in GR he should be icing with the Wings now instead of Langfeld. No disrespect to Josh, who did work hard in GR and is getting the rewards, albeit 5 mins a game, but hey he's in the show and Krys is in the snow!! somewhere in Switzerland. Anyone see this guy in GR this year?
-
I'm not worried about Dats not scoing in the P/O this year as if they stick to our current 1st line he'll be ok. Its our 2nd line that worries me at present, and not just for their current slump. In terms of playoff's if we put Sammy in the equasion as well the 4 of them have played a total of 111 games scoring 18 goals and 44 points in all. The concern is that Langer has 37 of these points himself. The other 3 have a combined to play 42 games for just 7 points, kinda worries one doesn't it!

Well after 60 games, we sit just a point off top spot and with 14 home and just 8 away games left can we finish up on top of the pile for a 3rd straight season? Many of us believed that this would be a tough season for the boys but they are producing the goods despite all our moans and groans on the boards. So do we think we have a genuine shot at the President's trophy, I would settle for wining the division, but that 1st spot gets you the home split down the line and with our home form it could prove to be a big plus. Still I would be happy with 8th spot if it guaranted us Stanley at season's end.
-
not so well V the Rivermen, gave up 7 on 31 shots. was 3rd game in 3 days thou for the Griffs.
-
I see he has been a healthy scratch the last 3 games, also he is supposed to be on the block. Maybe the Hawks have got some interested parties, anyone think we could be one of them? I know Babs and Holland have said we look set on D, but is he too similar to Markov, he has more size but does he use it? Would he bring anything extra to the table than what we already have and what would be his price a) to land him b) to pay him?
-
Yeah guys, no running up the score tonight. I hate seeing Wayne Whine and then deny the fact when confronted, no McSorley to defend his sorry ass these days!!
-
He's being stretchered off the ice.
