Todd Nelson to be interviewed by Arizona
Andy Pred 48 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
hopefully we trade him for OEL -
Erik of course

Rasmussen is a center with good size and wheels, as well as two-way acumen. Has fine stick skills and handles the puck well. Drives the net and battles along the boards. Has a hard wrist shot and a fast release. Useful on the penalty kill and can play wing in a pinch.

and i thought you guys were hard core hockey fans i gave enough clues !! lol i guess it would have helped, Loik Léveillé.
-
Del Zotto isnt re-uping in Phillie its the Hanifin rumour im more interested in thou

yep, my bad Bob. I was getting carried away with the potential of obtaining 2 young former first round picks for peanuts and easing our cap situation.

Could Kenny look at getting Grigs and Yak on a combined $3-4m cap hit for a year, then offload 2/3 of the higher profile players in the trade off for that top D or does Kenny look at getting some help on the D from the FA pool on short deals. With all these unqualified RFAs suddenly on the market its made for an interesting and somewhat deeper pool to pick from.
-
We had plenty of looks at him as he was part of 3-4 prospects camps. looks like he is a late developer and has some nice numbers the past 2 seasons in the A

So the Yak is up for grabs, will he bolt to the K or would he take a low deal to give it another shot? I'm in for a year deal at $1.5m and hope he see's the Wings as his salvation and performs to his potential level. If we got 35-45 points out of him it would be a steal, he could also turn into a star player that he should be already, i feel with Yakupov he just hasnt found the right fit, maybe the Wings could be that fit, I think we have nothing to lose on this at all.

Loyalty with top end players is a safe bet that Kenny is historically know for. Unfortunately it is a sticky wicket when doing the same favours to average NHLers, which he's been doing the past few years. This will only catch up with you in the new cap world he has to work in, I can see what he was thinking when he was giving new deals to certain players. But in this era you offer what you feel they are really worth leave it on the table and if they don't take it, thank them for their work and move on. There's plenty of players out there of the same calibre of those that we have, we are not trying to keep a Lidstrom, Rafalski or Stuart on the roster by paying big bucks. The cap crunch we find the Wings in wont get any better for 2 years at least, unless Kenny can somehow offload a couple of the top overpriced contracts he has installed on the roster. This i doubt very much, I mean $20m tied up in 4 D that provided 21 goals in 262 games isn't the best return you'd hope for and not much to entice potential suitors with.

im sure thats what Kenny suggested when he was interviewed about it at the draft, we need to get better from within so id say he's going to let the kids fight it out at camp. Id sooner go that route than have another 2 or 3 overpaid vets added. But in saying that i wouldn't be against seeing Vanek in the Winged wheel again.

WTF is Scott Wheeler? its ok ive done the research on the guy, he's a writer and self acclaimed draft exp who hails from Laugh land so that explains his crap.
-
Last pick must be the small skilled euro player we haven't picked yet
-
Setkov is a good solid pick.
-
Are nhl.com broadcasting today live? I'm feeling Kenny has a deal up his sleeve that will address all our problems ..............., ok so back in the real world here's to a productive second day drafting.
-
Didn't you just know it the least nab him
-
Hronek and Sambrook will be a very good players for us as well, not sure if we have that top 2 guy.
-
both the boys icing for Czech Rep at the worlds, lets not forget this kid folks, Jiri does get us some sound free agent pick ups ( that then get lost to other teams !!) anyway not long to go before we see what Kenny has up his sleeve for us this draft.

The Carolina Hurricanes are entertaining calls and offers for young defenseman Noah Hanifin, who was drafted fifth-overall in 2015.

Alexander Radulov: Wings on short-list of desired teams
Andy Pred 48 replied to TheDetroitRedWings's topic in General
Also with the adding of Drouin, the Habs have in effect replaced Radulov with less of a cap hit. -
He was named the best defenseman at the 2017 IIHF World Under-18 Championship in April, with 12 points (two goals, 10 assists) and a plus-8 rating in seven games to help Finland win the silver medal. Heiskanen also had 10 points (five goals, five assists) in 37 games with HIFK. He played on the top pair at even strength and saw time on the power play and the penalty kill. He returned from missing four weeks in March because of a virus to average more than 20 minutes of ice time in eight playoff games. HIFK coach Antti Tormanen said Heiskanen, 17, was his team's best defenseman this season. top pairing , +20 toi in the top Finnish mens league and still only 17, whoever picks this kid gets in my view the future star of this draft.

Kenny to bring Greene home?
-
Its all own personal preferences , but here's a option for you guys. If you are in the position of drafting 2 top players this draft, would you go for both Patrick and Hischier, or Makar and Heiskanen. No other combo's just the 2 options stated. Now would you make the same choice for the Wings needs?
