Bernie Parent and Mario Lemieux are the only repeat winners for back to back Cup Champs in the history of the award (not sure if that was mentioned or not). And only 5 players have repeated as the winner, period. I believe it will go to Chris Osgood. But it could also go to Crosby or Malkin if the NHL decided to give them a consolation.

I couldn't find exactly minutes played for the 98 Cup Final, so I guesstimated. At worst it's probably 5 seconds off, which doesn't affect anything. Anyways, this is what I got: 1998: .929 Save Pct., 1.64 GAA 2008: .930 Save Pct., 1.47 GAA 2009 (thus far): .969 Save Pct., 1.00 GAA For a combined total of: .938 Save Percentage with a 1.38 GAA. Yeah. Ozzy! Ozzy! Ozzy! Ozzy! -

We are never, ever going to convince everyone that Ozzy should be in the Hall, or what not. But what we can do is win little battles and get people on our side for Ozzy. I know I have convinced a few people over the last year. -
You don't get outplayed and just happen to be up 2-0 in the series. That just doesn't happen.

Wow, I love the fact that you can get penalties after the whistle. I also love being able to bat at the puck in mid-air. So many times I play, get a big juicy rebound in the air, and can't do anything. So that is definitely going to be good. And, the fans waving towels in the playoffs should be pretty wicked as well. Can't wait for this game.

I think this Final Four is pretty good. Bill McCreary has let the teams play from what I've seen thus far.

I've defended Chris Osgood to the death over the past two seasons. And I don't think it will ever end. To quote Drew Rosenhaus: "I love this man."

I'm sure he'll be fine. And extremely motivated to not screw this chance up against the Pens. He has some pressure on him to prove he made the right decision. 6 goals each game!

Excellent. I personally just prefer watching the goals and saves by Ozzy over and over and over. But this is great for those who actually want to watch the game again. Thanks for posting!

No Lidstrom, No Datsyuk, No Ericsson, No Lilja. We're talking the best defensive forward, and three of the top six defenseman on the team. And, he allows 2 goals in 2 games, closing out the series. Chris Osgood is a hero.

I am fairly confident that the Wings won't drop three straight. But the only way I would prefer to lose tonight is if I knew 100% that they would win in Game 6. And since I don't know that, I'd prefer a win tonight.

This is great news for us. The last 6 Cup Champions have had the lesser amount of days off between the final two teams. Give us that damned Cup again!

It's going to be unbearable to listen to the comparisons of those teams. But at the end of the day, there is nothing to even compare. For example, the Islanders had won 4 Cups in a row before losing to Edmonton. -
Babcock was pretty positive about them playing on Wednesday. I'd pencil them in. Datsyuk is 'very close' is what I heard earlier today. So 2 days rest should be enough. And I don't believe Liddy's injury is serious, so he gets a nice break as well to rest up.
