Just putting his name out there...he's a UFA and said that he doesn't expect to go back to Toronto...I know there are guys like Draper, Maltby, Franzen, and Cleary to kill penalties but he's a decent player andd has been captain of two different teams...I don't know how much he'll ask for but he might be worth considering if the price is right

I'd be reluctant to go above $3 million, I even think that's too much...I think $2.5 million is fair

if anyone in Nashville thinks del Biaggio isn't going to move the team to Kansas City, they're wrong...the Preds are as good as gone no matter who buys them, unless the local group comes through...moving to Kansas City is a sweet deal, the arena is rent free...other than Hamilton it'd be my first choice. I never really cared about Bettman either way, but I think this is pretty ridiculous...if someone offered me $238 million or $190 million for the team, which one do you think I'd pick? it's completely obvious that something else is at play behind the scenes (ie Bettman not wanting to move the team to Canada)...$50 million is a heck of a lot of money to walk away from, even if you're a billionaire...I'd like to see the other owners stand up to Bettman and tell him to shove it and approve the sale to Balsillie and the move to Hamilton. There is blame to go around on all sides, Balsillie included for jumping the gun and making plans to move to Hamilton before the team was even his, but it seems pretty fishy that Leipold would leave $50 million on the table...the only possibility is that he wants to get his money now from a guaranteed source instead of Balsillie who might pull out of the deal if he can't move the team...drama indeed

the Kronwall deal may have been jumping the gun a little bit, but he's played well when he's been healthy and hopefully his run of bad luck with injuries is over. personally, I'll take Ryan Smyth over Todd Bertuzzi any day, but the money just might not be there...it'd be good to sign Bert for a discount for 1 year to see what he can do...like someone said earlier, Bertuzzi is more risk/less money while Smyth is more money/less risk...Kenny has some interesting decisions to make in the next few days.

he's still signed for this season and next season...the Pens are going to try to win a Cup with this group before they split them up...and with the salary cap increasing ever so slightly every year, they may be able to keep them

I like the NHL logo just below the neck, the NFL does that too...the Caps one is ok, it is a bit busy though, the white on the sleeves, but I really liked the photoshopped one that had the Capitol Building on the front...the shoulder logo is cool too...as for the Isles jersey pictured above...damn

if expanding to 32 teams gets the Wings in the Eastern Conference, I'm all for it...and getting Jerry Bruckheimer involved with the league can only be a good thing...almost everything he touches turns to gold (Pirates, CSI, etc.)...he is a HUGE fan and people like him need to be involved in the league. Prediction: If Jerry Bruckheimer does indeed get a team in Vegas or somewhere else, Pat Brisson (Crosby's agent) will be running the team...they are friends and I remember seeing a story on Sportsnet about Brisson...he wants to be a GM some day.

I thought about this too. Giguere might take less money to stay with the Ducks. The owners have been pretty good to him with regards to his baby's condition and I think something like that will convince him to stay in Anaheim long term. He'll get a decent contract from them, maybe not as much as if he went on the open market but he'll get his cash.

Cherepanov could very well be the #1 pick...I don't think there's any chance we move up...I trust Kenny Holland to do what needs to be done.

I thought I remembered reading on one of these boards, maybe another one, that there was a rumour that they would announce new arena plans within a month after the playoffs ended...however, I also remember hearing that the plans would be decided upon before last Christmas, so it could be any time really

I didn't realize how dumb he was until Sportsnet here in Canada had him on as a guest analyst during their trade deadline show...he spewed all sorts of different rumours and there sure weren't many that were right...he had Bertuzzi to the Ducks way before we got him...I honestly have trouble believing anything the guy says
