my boss at the sporting goods store I used to work at paid extra to have them overnighted...I got my hat Friday, quickest I've ever gotten one...and I live in Newfoundland!
-
it'll be making it's first trip to Newfoundland with a player whose actually won it (it's been here before for promotional stuff)...Cleary is going to take it to the Janeway Children's Hospital in St. John's and then bring it out to his hometown of Riverhead...it's going to be one of the biggest gatherings our province has ever seen...I can't wait!
-
I am shaking and nauseous right now...what a freakin game
-
guys like Abdelkader, who signed a couple of days before the season ended, won't get their name on the Cup, but they will get a ring...that'd be enough for me!
-
I lost all respect I had for Gary Roberts tonight...a cheap, bush league stunt like that...terrible
-
can you imagine? the hype for the Pens would be worse than it is now.
-
310.3 317.3 320.5 323.5 993.7 on the gory one (which I felt kind of bad playing...poor little penguins)
-
I think it was only retired for Olympic play, not all international competitions

Miller was at Game 1 of the Wings-Avs series...I saw him after the game was over

I agree, it would be unfortunate to lose Nill, but he's the type of guy that should have a chance to run his own show, and that seems very unlikely in Detroit. As for Stevie: I understand where they are coming from. Yzerman is starting to build a good reputation, with last year's World Championship team and hopefully this year's team. If a guy like Brett Hull is a GM, you have to figure Stevie is going to be an even better one. I might get flamed for this and that's fine, but maybe somewhere like Toronto, Ottawa, or Vancouver would be good for him. Let's face it, his opportunity isn't likely to come in Detroit any time soon. He's like Nill. He deserves a chance to run his own show eventually, and unfortunately, Detroit just may not be that place to do it. It sucks to think about him being a part of an organization, but I don't begrudge him wanting to give it a try, especially if Holland is going to be in Detroit long-term. I live and breathe the Red Wings, but if I had a chance to work for another NHL team, you'd better believe I'd do it in a split second.

Honestly, the absolutely flaming piles of s*** that are posted on this forum sometimes boggle my mind. I was going to post this in one of the other threads but I thought this required a new one. Will Holland be fired? Do we need a new captain? Is Z retarded??????? Cripes, I would have expected this from a Leaf fan. But the series is 2-2. This happened to us last year and we won in 6. Get a hold of yourselves people. I love the Wings and the way they play unfortunately does determine my mood sometimes, but I think people that write the stuff posted above have lost touch with reality in some way and are taking the team far too seriously. The Wings are going to win this series, but if for some reason they don't, they aren't going to clean house. Unbelievable.

they're going to win tonight...I can feel it

Will Downey get any playing time during the playoffs?
detroitdan replied to Greatness=PavelDatsyuk's topic in General
as long as they win, I don't care who plays -
I say put Downey or Abdelkader in for game 2 instead of Mac...he looked lost out there
-
ok, at least it's not just me...I am freaking out right now...what is TSN doing???????????????????????????????

Who Else Stays Up Late and Blows Work Off During Playoffs?
detroitdan replied to Firehawk's topic in General
man, do I wish I could, but I can't fail out of law school...4 exams in 4 days...spent too much money on the degree already not to actually get it -
that was just Ron McLean, trying to stir things up...nothing there
-
I don't think people realize this sometimes...there's a lot more sports going on in Detroit than just the Wings...the NHL teams in Canadian cities are the biggest teams in those cities...you can't say that in Detroit or a lot of the American cities
-
it may have said sell-out, but man there looked like there were a lot of empty seats there...no matter, great game...exactly the way I wanted them to go into the playoffs...couple of PPGs, scored first, Huddles got a goal, Hasek was steady...looking forward to the playoff run now!
-
McGuire is an idiot...he seems to want to doubt the Wings whenever possible, eg. talking about them not winning the Cup when they win the Presidents' Trophy..."the last three times they've won the Presidents' Trophy, first round knockout"...that's wrong you moron...they've only gone out in the first round once when they've won the Presidents' Trophy...really getting sick of this guy
-
I love Abdelkader already...he had no hesitation in going down to block a shot just before the goal...and nice to see Huddles finally score
-
it's just as well that it's Nashville...I'm secretly hoping that the games won't be broadcast live in Canada...I have too much work in the next 10 days
-
cripes, does it ever end?????????????????????????????? this has to be one of the worst stretch of injuries for this team that I can EVER remember...I know he wasn't a key component, but losing the team leader in hits SUCKS...hopefully Abdelkader can step in and knock some bodies around
-
I'd like to see them score the first goal for once...that hasn't been happening very often lately in the games I've managed to see...I'm thinking we'll win...clinch that Presidents' Trophy!!
-
just listening to Barry Melrose on ESPN Radio...thinks San Jose is the best team in the West followed by Anaheim and then Detroit...I can't wait to see him proven wrong
