they look dumb...those flags are totally unnecessary
-
interesting looking at all the predictions in that blog and seeing that Detroit is ranked 1st in the conference...I always knew it was true, nice to see some love from everyone else though
-
it looks really unnatural, but maybe if every team does it it won't look so weird...wasn't that the way they looked in the 1950s?
-
the NBA, NFL, and MLB all have similar tags on their replica jerseys, I think the NBA and NFL have them on their game jerseys as well
-
that's a sweet website, thanks for adding it!
-
Tampa I can maybe understand, but Minnesota makes no sense...they shouldn't have lost the Stars in the first place
-
the Wings logo and jerseys have changed a couple of times since the beginning of the NHL, what's the big deal with a few changes now? it's not as if they changed the logo or colour scheme...I like them and I'll probably buy one...they look pretty good to me
-
I'd like Feds to come back...just so that it would cement his jersey retirement
-
I just threw up in my mouth...Stevie would not leave Detroit for Toronto...they throw out random crap on Primetime Sports all the time...this will not happen
-
I wouldn't mind having Avery back in Detroit...I was glad they traded for Schneids in 2003 but I wasn't happy that they had to trade Avery to get him...they've missed a guy like him ever since
-
easily it's Vladdy, but I don't know if he was the best defenceman in the world when he had the accident...he was definitely one of the top in the game, but I don't even think he was on the top pairing the year they won the Cup, it was Lidstrom-Murphy I believe...that said, he definitely could have become an all-time great if that horrific night had never happened
-
I agree that Burke hates Detroit, but we didn't take Babcock from him...he wouldn't give Babs a decent contract offer so he left...I'd really like to see them sign Selanne though...but this group we have is good...and who knows who will be available at the deadline...there could be some real deals out there
-
obviously it's Cleary hitting the boards...at least when Homer got hit he was still moving even if he was in pain...Cleary was completely still with glassy eyes, my heart sank completely when I saw that...probably the scariest incident since Fischer had the heart trouble
-
I asked about this last week...the new ones should be on sale in early September, around training camp time
-
Cujo was definitely not the problem in 2004...he played well enough in that series, but didn't they only score 6 goals in that series and lose Yzerman to the eye injury? I don't really care that he's gone but the blame wasn't all his

has Penner gone to arbitration? I'm just wondering why he hasn't re-signed yet would Penner be worth offering $3.5-$4 million to? the Ducks are 2 million under the cap...that includes Niedermayer but not Selanne...it'd be an interesting way at getting back at the Ducks...if the Wings offered him $4 million/year and the Ducks matched it they wouldn't be able to re-sign Selanne and it might force Niedermayer to retire if they can't afford both their salaries...is there anyone they could get rid of via trade?
-
someone posted above that Selanne got $1 million last season...he got that two seasons ago...I'm almost certain he got in the $4 million range last year, I think he signed two 1 year contracts

you know what team matters most? the Lions...and it's simply because they have been so bad for the last decade but I guarantee you that every single game they've played has been sold out...the city would go crazy if the Lions were ever half-decent again...the Wings are #1 for me and the 3 Cups were thrilling, but I'd be over the moon if the Lions won a Super Bowl...the Tigers have a good case too because of what they've done in the last year, but the way people talk about the Lions makes me feel like they're the team that matters most, even if they are bad (maybe they can improve this year! fingers crossed!)
-
thought you were talking about John Cullen...he beat cancer too when he played in Tampa
-
I like the new style of jersey...the Preds one is a little busy but I'm excited to get a new Wings one
-
I remember this too...I think it was in an article just after he re-signed, Holland said that he needed to get his conditioning up if he wanted to stick with the team...I wish I could meet this guy, I'm woefully out of shape

The REAL Sharks logo, not the "leaked" prototype
detroitdan replied to Defenseman13's topic in General
why is the NHLPA logo on the bottom of the back of the jersey? that wouldn't seem to make sense. -
I won't even comment on Crosby-Jeter because all of us here know which player should have won that poll...I'm sorry, LT is a great player but there is no way on earth that he is more popular than Beckham...Beckham is an icon all over the world, he's sold 250,000 LA Galaxy jerseys without even playing for them yet! I'm sure Tomlinson probably isn't even that well known outside North America...I'm also certain that Kobe Bryant isn't as big as Ronaldhino either...this is typical American media, thinking that American stars are the biggest in the world...it's a flawed poll...and I can't wait to see when Tony Parker gets more votes than Federer, who is arguably the greatest tennis player to ever pick up a racquet...ESPN is a joke

I like the Wings-Leafs matchup because that day is Hockey Day in Canada...BMO Field where Toronto FC plays would be a possibility but I don't think they could fit any more than 30,000 fans there...I don't know if they'd play inside the Rogers Centre (SkyDome) where the Argos play, but it would be cool if they did
