    Question About The Season Schedule

meh...the sked sucks from my point of view...I was hoping the Wings would play the Bruins, Leafs, or Habs on a long weekend so I could drive or fly to see them...not looking good

Reports: 2nd outdoor game in the works

    1. Won't be Pens/Wings, as they are not scheduled to play this year 2. Won't be Leafs/Wings at Michigan Stadium, they are scheduled to play at the Air Canada Centre this season Pens/Sabres on New Years Day at Ralph Wilson Stadium makes the most sense as far as the current schedule goes

    Vasicek?

anyone think this guy could be a player Holland is interested in? he has the size (6'5"), I just wonder how much money he wants.

could holland be watching the arbitrations?

Ribeiro is a punk...there weren't a lot of people in Montreal sad to see him go...Wings don't need him

could holland be watching the arbitrations?

Ryder AND Cleary on the Wings?? 2 Newfoundlanders? WOW that'd be awesome. No chance it happens though...Ryder and Gainey don't get along but they can't just give away 30 goals...they'll get him back

If You Were Ken Holland This Off-Season?

I noticed the comment about Kopecky earlier too...he broke his freaking collarbone...if he had played all year he would have sewn up a spot on the team easily

If You Were Ken Holland This Off-Season?

This is a good team...a lot of people are forgetting that...I can't believe that not signing Bertuzzi has had this much of an effect on the people here...they will find that top 6 winger and they will get some toughness...it's ridiculous how negative this board is...I know if I were Ken Holland I sure as hell wouldn't listen to anything that's been mentioned by the fair weather fans on this board. O'Neill wouldn't be a bad choice, especially if he comes cheap...getting out of Toronto might wake him up a bit...I think the defence is set...I don't know much about Miller but if he can provide some toughness then good...I'd still be interested in seeing if Kindl or Quincey can make the team, but that seems unlikely if they sign someone else...Dom will get signed too, it's just a matter of time.

Kyle Calder to the LA Kings

don't know if anyone else has seen this yet, but I was just on the Kings site and on the main page it says "Welcome to the Los Angeles Kings" with pictures of Calder, Handzus, Nagy, and Preissing...must be a pretty recent signing, no word on terms or length yet

    Bertuzzi a Duck: 2-Years, $8M

two completely different situations...Hatcher is a gronk and he's too slow...Rafalski can actually skate and move the puck...he won't be here for just one season and he'll be worth the money. again, Bertuzzi is not the player he was between 2001-2003...every time I watched him during the playoffs I'd get frustrated because he wouldn't take the puck to the net...I was shouting at the TV for him to crash the net...he tried to pass too much and wasn't playing the type of game that a guy of his size should be playing...the offer Kenny had on the table was pretty significant...a lot more than I would have given him...I was happy when they got him at the deadline, very excited actually, but as I watched him more and more it became clear to me that he's not the same guy he was in Vancouver and he most likely won't be ever again...part of me is sad to see him go because of what could have been, but he wanted too much money and there was a significant risk involved...Kenny Holland will find a big body out there somewhere...this is a fine team without Bertuzzi, one of the best in the league...I can't wait for October

    Bertuzzi a Duck: 2-Years, $8M

if Bertuzzi liked it here so much he would have taken a shorter deal knowing that it could have paid off big time next summer...sure it's a risk but that's a chance you take...whatever...they'll find someone to replace him, especially since he ONLY PLAYED HERE FOR 2 MONTHS! sorry, I don't know why my computer keeps posting my post over and over!

    Bertuzzi a Duck: 2-Years, $8M

wow...this is absolutely ridiculous...what a bunch of fair weather fans...this was a pretty damn good team before we had Bertuzzi, who showed almost nothing in the playoffs...there is solid goaltending, stellar defence, and 2 of the best young stars in the league...way too much doom and gloom in here...get a life folks...they'll still have one of the top 3 seeds in the West...calm down already if Bertuzzi liked it here so much he would have taken a shorter deal knowing that it could have paid off big time next summer...sure it's a risk but that's a chance you take...whatever...they'll find someone to replace him, especially since he ONLY PLAYED HERE FOR 2 MONTHS!

he was injured if I remember correctly, didn't play the last few games

    Bertuzzi a Duck: 2-Years, $8M

Guerin had the same number of goals last season that Smyth did...it's not as if he'd be a bad pick up
  17. detroitdan

    Bertuzzi a Duck: 2-Years, $8M

Guerin, as I just posted...the sky isn't falling...they played pretty much all season without Bertuzzi and a chunk of the playoffs...it's not as if they just lost Hank or Dats...everyone in this thread needs to chill out...screw Bertuzzi

    Bertuzzi a Duck: 2-Years, $8M

Kenny Holland knows what he's doing...would any of you have paid Bertuzzi more than $3 million a year? I know I wouldn't have...he's an injury liability...no sense in putting that much money into someone who basically sat out all of last year...I look for them to go after Bill Guerin now...$4 million for him would make a lot of sense

    Bertuzzi a Duck: 2-Years, $8M

whatever...let him walk...he doesn't know how good he had it in Detroit and how good he would have had it...Forsberg, Kozlov, Zubrus, or someone else...we've still got cap room

    Will Old Uniforms Become Cheaper?

they'll still sell the coloured versions of the old ones I think, sort of like a vintage type...they will still keep manufacturing them is what I've heard and seen
  21. detroitdan

    Ryan Smyth

I wouldn't mind seeing Smyth go to Montreal...no one has brought this up, but maybe he'll actually go back to Edmonton now...they missed out on Gomez, maybe they'll try to bring him back
  22. detroitdan

    Anyone else dissapointed?

I think the defence is in way better shape than most think...Lidstrom, Rafalski, Kronwall, Chelios, Lilja, Lebda, Quincey, maybe Kindl? are you kidding me? that is stellar!!! I think Dom and Bert aren't far behind and even if they don't get Bert I have a lot of faith in Kenny Holland...I think this was a great day for the Wings.
  23. detroitdan

Other teams Hasek could go to?

Dom will be back...I'd say he'll sign by tomorrow
  24. detroitdan

    Hudler to Russia?

$900,000 for Hudler? He doesn't deserve more than Cleary and he's only get $675,000

Rafalski is younger than Schneider though...I'd give him what he wants
