I will never fully understand this love of Frolov simply because there is no basis for it. I also fail to see why people think he would sign here anyways. Frolov is nothing special. He has 27 points in 44 games which is not as worrying as his -11 rating. Frolov has size which sounds good until you relaize that he plays as if he is Hudler's size. Hudler at his cap hit is all we need. There is a lot of hate towards Hudler because he bolted for the KHL. Big deal. Five million tax free dollars for a season's work is not something many would pass up. Hudler is a top line player in the KHL and he is not doing too badly. 37 points in 40 games with 6 of his 14 goals coming on the PP. His goal scoring on the PP should not be a surprise but he is putting up numbers on the top line as shown by his point per game numbers. The Red Wings PP has obviously been awful this season. So, could the Wings use Hudler? Yes they could, especially on the PP. In a straight comparison, Hudler trumps Frolov any day of the week. Hudler has also scored a couple of big goals for the Wings in the playoffs which of course is foreign territory for Frolov. Hudler did a lot in minimal ice time which is something a lot of people here fail to realize. Hudler can be a pretty productive player on this team if he is given the chance to be. I personally think that he will stay in Russia, make his 10 million and then come back to Detroit a more developed player.

Get on with life. His stupid mistake influenced the end of his time in Vancouver. Had he not have sucker punched Moore, he would probably still be a Canuck. I dont think he is a cancerous player. He did not tear Anaheim or Calgary apart to my knowledge. He was a Wing before (allbeit he was injured for most of the time) and did not cause any disruptions. You also cannot compare Bonds to Bert. Bonds thinks he is a God whereas Bertuzzi does not. Guys like Bertuzzi and Cleary are guys who have had the potential for greatness but for whatever reason they have failed to live up to that potential. Detroit is a place where they can become somewhat successful as an individual but the main goal in Detroit is obviously TEAM success. Bertuzzi is not going to be a cancer to the Red Wings.

Giving up on Howard this early would be a mistake. He has not had a sufficeint opportunity to show what he can do in Detroit. Naturally, the Red Wings are extremely patient with their prospects and clearly they are extra patient with goaltenders. I hope Howard can show that he is capable of being the guy for us in the future but at the same time, I would not be surprised if he fails to show such.

I think this whole Crosby not shaking Lidstrom's hand is highly overblown. Obviously every Wings fan was pissed on Friday night but come on...Crosby had just won the Stanley Cup for the first time. Its not that he is disrespectful or anything like that, he was just caught up and he even said so. Would it have been better if he shook his hand? Obviously. But it is what it is. No big deal.

I do not think he will be able to get to 100. But I cannot speak enough about his value to the Red Wings. Dats is a monster, he is great at every aspect of the game. I think he should be in line for a second Selke.

I am not talking about this year. Yes, I agree that this year they did well as they robbed both Calgary and New York blind. They also traded a goon away for Upshall, well done. But in the past, when Barnett was their GM, a lot of Milbury like trades were made.

There are teams that have deeper goaltending issues than the Red Wings do. Ozzie is a proven winner and he should turn his game around. Howard and Larsson are both potential NHL claiber goalies. Conklin has played his way right out of price range especially with the chaotic FAs Detroit has to deal with. Ottawa could be a good fit for Conks. Even a return to Edmonton could be possible given that Roloson's contract is up and Deslauriers does not seem ready to step in as a starter. Personally, I love Jimmy Howard and I hope he can become our starter at somepoint over the next 2 years.

Cherry says a lot of stupid things but I sort of agree with him. He celebrates EVERY goal as if it was the Stanley Cup winner. Too bad Scott Stevens is not around anymore. I would pay good money to see him knock Ovechkin's head right off of his shoulders. The Skills Competition was a prime example of his superfluous actions.

Holland says that he will address 'defensove depth' at the deadline. Getting Dandenault back would address that as he can play both up front and on d. Obviously we all know that he has post season experience. I'd welcome him back for the Wings, but what would we have to give up? Probably not much, 3rd rounder should do it. But...realisically, the Wings need physicality.

Obviously good news. It would be a crime if Helm was not in the lineup for the playoffs. He was simply amazing in last years run. His speed and grit is going to be apart of the Red Wings for years to come. Helm will be the next Drapes without a question. Injuries and the natural course of the Stanley Cup Playoffs will also enable Leino to get some playing time which he also deserves. Just looking at the core of prospects makes me excited. They are not even prospects to be honest, any other team, they would be on the top two lines. Its this type of depth that will help the Wings in the playoffs and I also feel that Kenny will be able to stand pat at the deadline because of that.

How incredibly ridiculous. Yes, lets go and get Craig Anderson, a goalie who does not even know what the Stanley Cup Playoffs are. Lets go get this 'solid' goalie that has won 30 games and still is not a credible starter in the NHL. That is exactly what we need. Are you at all aware that this is essentially a carbon copy of last year's team? The Wings will come around and tighten up defensively and that will solve the issues. Ozzie will hit his stride when his defense plays the way they should be playing...But seriously, Craig Anderson? Preposterous.
