Billy Idol! Dancing with Myself!

Roy and Bourque's sound like they will be a bit odd as they are not based on one play like the others. They are both legends and deserve to be apart of these ads so it'll be interesting to see what they will do with them.

It is a toss up for me. I have both white and red jerseys but I will go with white because of the four cup victories I have witnessed in my life, the Wings have been wearing the white jerseys three times. Also, I cannot argue against Yzerman hoisting the cup in 1997 while wearing the then home whites.

Good for Shanny! This is where he belongs(now). Hopefully this the first of many great steps made by Shanny. He can only bring positives to the table in this situation. The problem is, he is dealing with idiots such as Bettman.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if it is wrong.

I'm sure there might have been a thread like this is the past but I cannot find it. Just interested to see who your ten favourite Red Wings of all time are. Its pretty hard to narrow it down to ten. Mine are as follows: 1) Steve Yzerman 2) Sergei Fedorov 3) Henrik Zetterberg 4) Vladamir Konstantinov 5) Chris Osgood 6) Bob Probert 7) Nicklas Lidstrom 8) Grind Line (Draper if I had to pick one) 9) Tomas Holmstrom 10) Dino Ciccarelli

Ryan Kesler signs 6-year/$30 million deal with Canucks

They each have medals from the 2010 Olympics and both are centremen. What else? I am sure they both like eating steak too. -
Ryan Kesler signs 6-year/$30 million deal with Canucks

Both can be weighed in pounds and kilograms and both were born in 1984. What am I saying? You're right, they don't have much in common. -
I would rather have Hudler and Stuart for a bit more money than Frolov. I will never understand this love for him on these boards. Frolov had 59 points in 77 games last year while consistently playing in the top 6. Hudler has 57 in 82 while playing in limited minutes. Given the same ice time over a season, I feel Hudler's numbers would trump Frolov's. If Hudler comes back, he is at $2.85, Frolov will cost more. Stuart has played well. Yes, lets look at plus minus on the PK and blame solely Brad Stuart. That does not make sense. Stuart has logged a lot of minutes this year and as I have said, he has played well. It should also be noted that Stuart is an enabler for Kronwall to do what he does (jump up for big hits, pinch, join a rush). At the end of the day, Hudler over Frolov in my opinion but is Frolov wants to play for 2.8 million? Why not.
-
So you would rather lose Stuart (who behind Lids, has been our best dman this season) in efforts to sign Frolov who will cost $4-5 million per season when you could have Stuart and Hudler for roughly the same cost? I am not even going to compare Frolov and Hudler because that has been overdone on this site. Hudler can do everything Frolov can at a much lesser price.

They will dismantle the Oilers tonight . How about...7-2?

I know this is an unlikely scenario but I am all for it. Clarkson is awesome! He is capable of scoring and can hit and fight which is exactly the sort of player this team is lacking. Shanahan? Maybe. I think he is more of McCarty type of guy. He hits, he grinds it out, he chips in with some goals (key goals as well) and he is well capable of dropping the gloves. I think Clarkson is a bit better positionally than D-Mac too.

Seabrook went after Perry with his elbow in my opinion and frankly, good on Wiz for sticking up for his teammate,Perry. Suspendable? Yep, 4 games at the most but 8? How ridiculous. Typical NHL, no consistency. I would just like to point out that Joel Quenville is an *******. The worst history of the game? You could kill him? EASY JOEL! Obviously I am biased because this happened to a Blackhawk but ultimately, no hockey fan wants to see a player get injured and I hope Seabrook is alright but his coach has issues. I also like that Wiz came out immidiately and issued and apology and stated that he thought Seabrook would play the puck (which he didn't) and he said he reached out to Seabs via a text message. Wiz did the right thing (stuck up for Perry and realized his error).

Landsberg is a hero for orchestrating this meeting. I thought that was very well handled by both guys. I hate still Lemieux but I have at the very least gained some grains of respect for him.

Red Wings GM Ken Holland hasn't given up on wandering Jiri Hudler

This whole Flip vs Huds debate makes me uneasy. Yes, bring Hudler back and put him to play on Flip's line that way we can have Flip's defense and Hudler's offense in one package. Also, Flip is not near Hudler's offensive level just like Huds is nowhere near Flip's defensive level. Huds can put points up regardless of what line he is on and that is something Flip cannot do. Hudler is a natural scorer and we need another one of those on this roster. -
Sign him up! Though I think Grand Rapids would be his hottest option for awhile which could sway him from signing on.

Kyle Wellwood is useless, or he would be on this team. There are better options than him. When he was a Leaf, he was lazy and he sucked. I am not entirely sure if anything has changed too significantly as in Vancouver he is on a much better team and is surrounded with better talent. He is said to have a poor work ethic (shows) and bringing him to play in Detroit makes little to no sense to me. The team could stay the same and I would not mind. Bring Abs up and hopefully Hudler returns and that should be good enough baring retirements.

On this St. Patrick's Day, who is your favorite Patrick currently
superstarsingh replied to CanadaBoy's topic in General
Eaves is the man and he wears the right jersey. -
Seriously? The goalie acquired in this lateral move will not be the mentor for Howard that Ozzie has been. The two have established a good relationship and Osgood knows fully well that he has now taken on the role that Cheveldae and later Vernon had when Osgood was younger. As Doc already pointed out, you will not find a backup with Ozzie's experience and with a resume even remotely close to his. How are you going to ditch a guy who is about to get to 400 wins and wants to retire a Wing? Chris Osgood appreciates Jimmy Howard's rise

A positive from this arguably negative season. Every year there is a lower seed team that is poised to make some noise, not necessarily a dark horse, but a lower seed that will cause trouble. Last year it was the Ducks as GMR pointed out. I am happy to say that team will be the Red Wings this season. We all know that this team is not a 7th or 8th seed and that is obviously why the Hawks would rather play someone else in the first round . Paraphrasing the words of Kris Draper in 1998, we had been knocking on the front door for the past few of years, this year we are going to try sneaking in the back (even though the "back" was 3rd in the West then). And we all know what happened!

That is the mantra because if the Wings lose to the Oilers or the Wild victories against the Flames and Preds will not matter.

Huds will be back and at $2.85 million he is a steal! He will help the PP for sure. -
The biggest game of the season so far for both teams. Hopefully the Wings bring a playoff-like game tonight and if they do, all should be well and we will all be happy and be able to sleep easily tonight. Pepper Kipper early and that should set a proper tone . Go Wings Go!

Steve Downie with another questionable play
superstarsingh replied to Yzerfan1999's topic in General
Crosby is a diver, yes, but that is a justifiable reaction. Downie...what a class act. -
I hope Brad Stuart doesn't play in that game. I'm kidding, Talbot will s*** his pants when he sees Lilja!
