Lang is Lazy and He Sucks

Yet, a lot of folks are amazed that Ovechkin can put up the points while playing for such a poor team and wonder how much he could be on a better team. I just think it is funny, I have seen the argument so many times, his stats could be better if he played on a better team, then the opposite, his stats are high because he is the only good player on the team.....

    A trade idea with Philadelphia

Lang had 20 goals last year, Knuble had 34.

    Did anyone see this?

I don't know about that. Gotta give up something to get something.

    Donald MacLean

How closely does everyone follow the Griffins? I haven't seen any of their games this year, but have heard a few on the radio. How is MacLean doing? I know he had a horrible start to the season (I believe he was coming off of an injury sustained during the Wings camp). He seems to be coming on really strong as of late. He's an old high school friend of mine, but I haven't seen him since the summer.

    KRONWALL

If that was the rule, then wouldn't he qualify?

    Donald MacLean

MacLean continues his dominance. He has 40 goals now, I think #2 in the AHL has 33. He still trails Hudler in pts for the Griffins, but ignorning the month of October (when Donald was recovering from injury), MacLean has 39 goals and 58 points compared to Hudler's 14 goals and 50 points. Also, Hudler has been a star of the game in 2 games, while MacLean has been a star in 10. MacLean has 33 goals in his last 35 games and 39 goals in his last 45. Not sure what is going on this year (maybe he is playing with playmakers). He normally has no problem scoring, but his assists are usually 50% more than his goals vs. this year when his goals are far higher than assists.

    Donald MacLean

He was signed to a contract by the Wings, not the Griffins. Also, just an FYI, I think he has his scoring streak up to 17 or 18 games now.

    Donald MacLean

If you ask me, he has a history of not really getting a chance to play in the NHL

    Griffins Game Tonight

Could anyone be any hotter right now? He had 3 goals and an assist tonight for his 4th hattrick on the year and now leads the league in goals. Back to back hattricks.

    Griffins Game Tonight

He's a two way. You mentioned though that he's somewhat similar to Williams in that he's a scoring line player and not well suited for 4th line duty, right? Is McDonell the chippy one or does Don have any sort of physical presence to him? Lots of random questions, but I know you know the guy (more than anyone else would). Any NHL upside or has that passed him by? peace Well, I'm not really sure about ability to play the 3rd or 4th line, my thoughts were that just isn't his style. When he was first drafted, he was small, I think only 175lbs (6'3"). He was told early on that he had to put on more weight, which he has, I think he is around 215 now...size is obviously not a problem. He actually made it to the NHL as a regular at 20 years old, but then got hurt. Other than a few games here or there, he's never made it back. He played in Finland last year and did very well. I actually ran into him and his wife (also high school classmate) at a Tim Hortons in Quebec of all places. They really liked it in Finland and seriously considered going back for this year. I never talked to him about it, but I did meet up with another friend for lunch about a month ago, who is very close with Donald, and she also knows a former GM from Montreal. The GM said he probably will never be a full time NHLer because of his skating. His skates better than anyone I have ever played with (without thinking about it too much), but I guess not quite good enough. I guess he'll always do well at the AHL level, but can't quite translate that to the NHL level. HOWEVER, I've always held the beef that he has never really been given the chance. He did, in fact, lead the NHL in scoring during the preseason a few years ago, the Leafs had no choice to keep him with the team, but they didn't play him and ultimately sent him back down.

    Brodeur for Legace & Zetterberg

You might do it? What on earth would keep you from doing it? The fact that Legace is 9 months younger? Money issues aside of course.

    WHAT ABOUT THIS TRADE?

Havlat doesn't compare to Datsyuk? How do you explain that?
