That's total BS. Please cite one, only one will suffice, example of another player in the league that has done something similar and got suspended for it?

Why do you say that? -
Because Calgary needs to rebuild. The only way Iginla doesn't get traded is if he doesn't waive his NTC (ala Sundin). I've heard he has provided a list of 4 teams he'd accept a trade to. Pittsburgh is one, I'm assuming Detroit is one as well, but I don't know.

Iginla.

My problem....I'm not willing to talk about Vezina worthiness with a guy who's only played 12 games so far. Not really into discussing it for guys that played 20 games either.
-
Well, his junior coaching record is pretty impressive 431-184-17-30 (.687 win%). Not sure how that might translate to the pro level though.
-
His -17 is dead last in the entire league (something like 725th place)...yikes. Most of that has to do with how bad the team has played so far though.

Probably a short one though since it's not an in-person hearing. -
Cherry called it a butt end though, which it wasn't. It wasn't your typical elbow to the head either (i.e. there is no way what he did was going to injure someone, it was a standing still forearm, no different than a punch for the most part). Those plays happen in scrums all the time. For anyone that saw the clip, I'd challenge you to ask yourself how often you see something like that in a game.....the answer should be very often. Like most every other time, the only reason it is being discussed is because of who did. There is going to be a discussion any time Crosby hits a guy in the head.
-
Oh, BTW, you are missing quite a bit of the back story in what led up to that incident in front of the net. I didn't see the game, but I have heard from several and I've heard several guys suggesting they loved seeing that from Crosby. I can tell you for sure that his coach and his teammates liked it a lot. That was the 3rd or 4th time in short order that folino had blantantly ran Fleury. He should have expected a lot worse than he got. It really shouldn't have had to come from Crosby, but it did.

Not sure why anyone would want him going up against a fighter/goon anyway. He's a norris worthy type defensement, you don't want him sitting in the box regularly. The guy is one of if not the strongest guys in the league, but he is not a "fighter." That's why you don't neccessarily see him going up against pure fighters regularly and I wouldn't expect him to or hold anything against him for not. If he gets into a fight with another team's goon, then the other team got what they wanted, they got him off the ice.

Did you watch the game?
-
I don't think most of the other players feel any disrespect (your number is way too high though, it's more like 600 that play on a regular basis). The players around the league appear to have respect for the guy too based on last year's player polls and based on what I read this morning: Edit....one other thing, most players, not all, but most wouldn't mind all the attention he gets as well, they probably prefer not to get bothered by the media. I've seen some guys in other sports who beg for the media attention, but I don't see a lot of that in hockey.
-
Thing is, the NHL players themselves are contributing to it, tons of tweets from them over the past 18-24hours.
-
By his standards, still decent stats though.
-
Agreed, although the refs called a lot of weak ones all game. 6 powerplays for NY vs. 4 for PIT.
-
Nah, Carmen can tend to be blind in the "other" direction.
-
No, they've had live feeds for game day skates quite a bit lately I think.
-
Well, what was worse is somewhere in here were someone compared him to Lebron as an example of something Crosby is not (I agree with that, but the comparison was a slight to Crosby).
-
Well, the idea is that you not only get his services for a cup run, you also get "exclusive" negotiating rights....which you cannot underestimate. Teams trade for players after the season that will become UFA's only 2 weeks later just to get that exclusive negotiating power. Why do you say the Wings have a huge chance of signnig him in the off-season anyway?

The video you posted is only a big deal because it's Crosby. So what, he was frustrated, yes he has a temper at times, so what, so do a ton of guys in the league. Plays like that happen all the time and yes, I have seen Yzerman act like that before and yes, I've seen Yzerman whine at least to the level of Crosby. In part, you will tend to see more of that from captains. If you spend a few games and just follow Crosby around, watch the punishment he takes during the game...behind the play. There is no doubt that he snapped a bit there, but to suggest that is so strange when you compare to everyone else is odd. With Gretzky, no only did he not take anywhere near the punishment Crosby gets, he would have never reacted like that for 2 reasons...1) he probably doesn't have as much of a temper and 2) he had other people do it for him.

I think this is where some may say "blind hate." Ovechkin's not a diver? I can find some video showing some more blantant dives than you'll ever find for Crosby. He's a two-way player? Is that a joke? His coach may be trying to push that, but he defense is nowhere near to the level of Crosby (not saying Crosby is a defensive master, but he's improviing for sure and is much more two-way than Ovechkin). He's a centre though, so tough to compare. Not sure what the sense of aentitlement commen is about though, but I'm assuming it's just a fun throw in that can't really be backed up, but hey...why not. It's funny, anyone that I talk to that spends any time at all around Crosby suggests he's one of the most humble professional athletes they have ever encountered. I guess it's funny the contrasting views some fans can take (I tend to rely on those that actually spend more time around him though).

That was before he was cleared for contact....he wore the same colour helmet as everyone else since being cleared....no contact limitations at all since then.
