which makes it worse is that Caps practically gave up NOTHING for Feds. They gave up a prospect in college with 1 goal. I cant believe we wouldnt match that.

come on Holland. Something....anything.......
-
Posted in another thread, but thought it belongs here too Holland was interviewed earlier on TSN. He said he hoped to pull off a "small" deal.....thats it.

sounds okay then

Put this in the deadline thread, but I felt it belongs here too. "There are certain assets we're prepared to part with to try to bring in a player, but there are certain young players and assets -- they're not going anywhere," Holland said. "They're part of where we're trying to get to." That, apparently, includes Filppula, and, based on how well he has played the past two games, the list also includes young defenseman Jonathan Ericsson. Holland said he would trade his first-round pick in this year's draft." -Per Freep I sincerely hope this doesn't mean that a draft pick is all Holland is willing to give up. Cause if thats the case, we're screwed.

He did....Mac

I'm predicting.......85% we get Stuart........65-70% we get Feds......They still seem like the most likely pickups, even though Fed's injury problem seems to be a concern. That is, if we even do a trade.....still not convinced its for sure.
-
I'd take him for "Future Considerations". Thats it.
-
Just like Drake, right?
-
*crosses fingers its not to the Wings*
-
Ruutu is getting worse by the season. He has six goals and unless he could perform like he once did, we don't need him. Unless we get him DIRT cheap. I dont think we could use anyone from that list actually.
-
i really think nothing is certain at this point. Considering the few players available, the asking prices will probably be high. I'd say 60%
-
i think Stuart is pretty likely at this point. I thought Feds was likely too buuuuuut, this whole injury thing might play a big role.

Thanks! Don't have TSN down here.....please keep us updated!
-
Finally a person to my defense! Thanks

Okay, fine, you win. Holland brought us the cups. Holland is god. Holland is the reason the sun rises in the morning.

Funny thing is, I've said from the beginning that I didn't think we'd land him. I had no "pipe dreams" for Hossa. Its the fact that if a good deal came along, we wouldn't do it cause we won't trade Flip is what irritates me. Yes, it can. The thing is, I don't bash you for saying so.
-
Its so completely unnecessary to give me as much s*** as you are. I'm not "bitching" at Holland, get the facts straight. I merely said that its unjust to take Flip off as a potential trade option. Its things like that that can really end up hurting a team.
-
I'm not trying to, its just my input. I'm also pretty damn frustrated. Like I said, the 97 and 98 team were NOT put together by him. And don't get me wrong, its great we make the playoffs but we should be getting farther than we have in recent years. Holland is NOT a bad GM. He's just not as great as some make him seem.
-
you know what? Holland gets way too much undeserved praise. He was pretty much HANDED an allstar team in 1997 by the former GM (forgetting his name at the moment) and used the same team to get his cup in 02. He hasn't done anything I consider that "great". The fact that he won't trade a guy that MIGHT develop in the future for a current all-star is pretty lame.
-
I wish Lebda would be too......but unfortunately, we're just too short Defensemen. But my trade list is the same as yours. actually minus Lilja and replaced with Huds
-
Wishful thinking, but highly unlikely. I'll add the rest of the quote: "Also worth noting that, as rumors swirl prior to Tuesday's 3 p.m. trade deadline, Babcock said Valtteri Filppula isn't going anywhere. He had been rumored as possible trade bait for Atlanta's Marian Hossa. Filppula was back on a line with Pavel Datsyuk and Tomas Holmstrom in practice." It seems pretty certain he won't be dealt. Hudler and Sammy are it I believe.
-
I'm sure him and Kenny keep in close touch about trade possibilities. If Babcock says it won't happen, I don' think it will happen. And it was posted about 10 mins ago.
