Hard to believe that our old man Chelios has 3 goals in 3 straight games. For a guy who had 1 goal all of last season, this is pretty freakin amazing, pre-season or not. I really really really hope this streak of his continues through the regular season, as we need a a good defensive scorer. What do you guys think?

Alright Mr. Ilitch, unless you want ALL the games to be half empty like this one, its time to lower the cost of the seats and actually have people at the game. This is getting ridiculous, if games against Edmonton and Anaheim will be this empty, imagine the attendance for games like Columbus and St. Louis!

I sure hope so! It'd be great for the fans and the league if the Blackhawks have a good season. Here's hoping for more close Wings vs Blackhawks games! I wish we'd get a Franzen update already.

Good to see teams like Columbus, Dallas, and Atlanta playing in packed houses. Too bad not in Detroit too.

Now that I've seen that only a few teams sold out their home opener, I'm getting pretty scared. Has hockey really lost the interest of that many of its fans? Is it because the cup matchup last year was absolute s***? If this trend continues, it could easily mean the extinction of the NHL. Its already on the endangered list. hey, at least Dallas is looking pretty packed.

god, that was just so damn depressing. Way unnecessary. "They didn't sell out their first game so now that means Hockeytown is dead and no one cares about the Red Wings anymore". What a crock of bull. Though I have to admit, it was sad to see all those empty seats while watching the game, I don't believe its cause of the reasons this ****** bag is giving. Hopefully, it will pickup. This seriously does need to change though.....there are more red wings fans in attendance at AWAY games these days. Is it the Joe? Is it the city? Is it the economy? Or are people really getting bored with red wing hockey at the Joe? Theres like 4 articles this morning talking about the lack of people on the home opener and it just pains me to read them, especially after such an exciting game. The players even say its getting to THEM! Looking up at all the empty seats during the game. This is Hockeytown, damn it! Come on guys.....this is OUR team and they need OUR support. Something needs to be done.....maybe a rally....maybe an official lowering of ticket prices.......but definitely something. Cause I'll be damned if in a few years Columbus or Nashville is known as the "new" Hockeytown. I have an extra ticket to the Flames game next week and will GLADLY give it to a fan on this site for free just to fill that seat and support my team. So, Detroit fans, take off that baseball hat, turn off that Lions game, put on that RED WINGS Jersey! and come out to the Joe! Its hockey season! Whew, sorry about the rant.

its not just that there are tickets available. Its the fact that there are GOOD tickets available. I went on ticketmaster today and did a request for 3 tickets to the home opener and had an option to buy in section 110 or 208! How the hell are THESE locations still left?
