for some reason, the "Draper for Raycroft" rumor has been floating around all day. Theres no way it can be true though......unless Holland got knocked in the head at the golf course.

I'm not too worried about our D at this point, we seem pretty solid. I'd be perfectly fine with either one of those forwards though, as well as Guerin, Asham or O'Neil.

the point was Jay, that Holland didn't want to have to spend 4 mil to get another starting goaltender when Hasek could come cheap. The thing is, Hasek doesn't believe that after last year he SHOULD come cheap which I dont think Holland was really expecting. So now, if we can't sign him for 2 mil or below, we'll have to spend like god know's how much on another goalie and our hopes of signing another top six forward and another D man would fly out the window.

I'm getting so freakin irritated at the lack of buzz involving the Wings, considering we have so much cap space remaining. I hope Holland "knows" what he's doing.

Holland prob. wont pick up anyone until the day before training camp where our options will be pretty limited to say the least. Probably still wont have Hasek signed.

Murray doesn't count, he's not a free agent, just on the trade block. Also, he's not much different than Lang. We don't need another Lang.

i'm hoping the delay just means Holland isn't done with signing other free agents yet. I think once we pick up our forward, Hasek will be signed immediately.

I definitely would love to see O'neil here, I forgot he was still available. However, I don't think he'll come cheap, and knowing Holland he's only looking to spend crazy cheap. I think we have more of a shot at landing Comrie or Asham.

At this point, I believe Comrie would be our best bet. He'd be a solid 2nd line center and he does show up in the play offs. He'd prob. sign a one year 2.75 mil which wouldn't be horrible.

well, at this point I would sign Hasek for about the same you mentioned, and pick up a top six forward. My top picks would have been Kozzie and Shanny but they're all but signed. Options now are Yashin, Saprykin, Guerin, and Asham.
