I'm still calling Cleary + Alfie + Ray Whitney with time for Holland to tee off by noon.
-
Ah, I might be thinking of Wisniewski. Or maybe it was both.
-
I think this was the only guy to ever publicly come out and bash the Wings organization after we tried to sign him. Something like, "those guys need to learn people aren't gonna take discounts to sign with them".
-
Well, this is Babcock's last year....
-
We paid more for Legwand.
-
Hilarious. They're booing Bettman with passion every time he touches the mic.
-
Man, it will be a day of celebration when tire-kicking Kenny finally steps down.
-
Uh, yeah, unfortunately just about every other original six team is light years better than us and at least a few would throw offers his way. That sell won't work. Holland should just do what he does best and preach about our retirement package of promising to keep him in the lineup well into his 40's.
-
What exactly do we have that we can sell him on? Gentleman agreements?
-
Very surprising. Holland only goes for washed up veterans, so it's mind boggling why he didn't throw a 3 year offer at him.
-
Hilarious Polie figured out in 3 months what Holland couldn't figure it in 4 years. Seriously, why does everyone love Kenny again?
-
Hahahaha. And people called me crazy when I said 100% he would be brought back, probably to a multi year deal. I also very much expect a multi year offer to be made to Bertuzzi, Legwand, maybe even Sammy. This is Holland.

2014 SCF : (2) The Big Apple vs. (3) Hollywood

It's depressing we paid more for Legwand than Kings did for Gaborik. -
Think so. Aren't they those guys who didn't get a single point in the playoffs, despite it being their second run?
-
He wants to go to a team that actually has some talent in their prime. He wants to go to a team that, coached right, could actually go far. Can you blame him? Obviously sick of the gross mismanagement by Holland. It's sad that our top two players next year will be 36 and 35 respectively. But don't worry guys, I'm sure Franzen will totally bounce back.

WCSF : (6) Los Angeles Cartmans vs. (1) Coach Bombay and the Quacks

Hilarious watching guys like Vanek and Gaborik show up hard for the playoffs and be difference makers while we paid loads more for a guy who became a 4th line winger. And yet Shero is the one who gets fired. -
We all know this has ken holland written all over it. Don't forget we gave Bert a 2 year extension at 37. Also the same guy who brought back Sammy at 35 for two years, went after Alfie and Modano and made a hard push for Jagr. A 5 year deal wouldn't be surprising.
-
Agreed. I think the guy needs a break away from actual nhl management. Commentator would fit him well.
-
Haha, and people wonder why Babs doesn't want to sign an extension. Obviously getting sick of this bush league bulls*** management.
-
Boyle has looked terrible this series. Really hope Holland doesn't go for him.
-
Really sounds like next year will be Babs' last year and they're getting ready to transition him out with Blashill.
-
Yeah, second seed last season, first seed this season. And you're right, this is the 8th seed being the "tough out" as Babs wanted. Guess Babs forgot the only brains behind our operation vacated to Dallas (and literally tried to take all the competent staff with him).

THIS is what hockey should look like. Fun, fast, lots of hits, and great plays to the goal. I've seen better hockey in 10 minutes of this game than I have from the Wings slow, boring, ballerina style all year.
-
And this is after being the GM for a freakin year. No wonder he wanted out of Detroit.
-
Anyone else watching? It's amazing to watch teams who actually have offense. I sometimes forget what it looks like watching the Wings play the last few years. Jim Nill has really accomplished a lot in the span of a year.
