I like Commie, but i rather Kindl play Orr like hockey while Ericsson's injured, so that when he's healthy Biggie but smalls ain't needed no more. Wings then get the luxury of trading away Big Rig to the all you can eat Florida Panthers, gaining a healthy chunk of salary cap space, along with having all star calibre J. Kindl's outta all of this. Repeat for 2013. I have a funny feeling though this might not happen, so get well soon there Big Rig :battle:

no excuses for not coming out with a W tonight, a first seeded club versus a bottom feeder, just show up. Both club got injuries so a full 60 minute game and there shouldn't be an issue. Did you laugh when someone said the same thing about Franzen, or Quincey, maybe even Howard. Not saying these guys will be elite players, just seems like you don't have much confidence from a player who hasn't yet proven himself a "top six" NHL'er if he's over the age of 24...Again maybe they won't be, most likely not (except even I said the same thing about Johan) but I sure as hell wouldn't consider them scarps just yet. Your being just as pre-mature as someone who believes there is still potential in these players. If I was doing that trade i'd probably ask for Mursak over Emmerton, probably just a bottom feeder too though...

I wouldn't consider Hudler a scrap right now, and Emmerton and Andersson aren't write offs either, so that trade IMO isn't such a bad offer. Nabs I don't see us getting though, probably too high a price for a team looking for a backup, I can see the hawks potentially making a run for him though. I hope Kenny tries to acquire Ruutu soon, a player like him I think would work great for a potentially long run this year.

I'll admit watching him this season he seems a lot less dangerous then he has in previous years. But a player with his calibre could turn it around in a game, and have a fantastic finish to the season. Then it becomes a whole new story with Hank come playoff time. Off year so far yes, but then you have players like Flip and Huds who are having career years playing alongside Zdawg. So with bad comes good and again, he could turn it around in a day. Do we really wanna miss out on a heart like this in the post-season ?

I thought Ericcson was dominating with his size last night, its games like these where I can except the salary he makes. If it was every night like yesterday that we see outta Ericcson, our defence would have a lot more upside. Players like him seem to come out more during playoffs, but he'd be that much better come then if he did this every night in the regular season. edit: meant to quote the post above yours

Conks has a great opportunity here to prove he's still capable enough to be relied on when needed. Detroit in front of him have to play just as hard too. They tend to make times like these an excuse to play poorly. The boys are playing so well right now I though, hope they can keep finding the motivation to dominate. If they do, Conks will be fine IMO

Well then whichever Blue it was that knocked Holmstrom's stick out of his hand's in the 2nd should have been given a slashing penalty, it gets called 9 outta 10 times! So now i disagree with the officiating too... Point is you could nitpick every minute of the game if you wanted too, and I don't think the interference was big enough travesty to make a good argument out of. They never showed the replay of Helms hit, so i couldn't say otherwise, but I disagree with your disagreeing. Only because I see your post as a way to try and have us justify an excuse for why wings won, when there clearly isn't one.

TBH i like the first suggestion there, with bert playing on the 4th line. I just didn't want to have both Holmstrom or Bertuzzi in the top 6, or even the bottom 6 together either. Having Bert with Abs could actually turn out to be a positive thing, the speedy Mursak wouldn't hurt either. Then Helm and Eaves can play together which seems to do them good, and if Cleary plays as good as he did last year, that becomes a very strong checking line.

to be honest im pretty happy with this signing. its only a 1 year 1 million dollar contract. Its a replacment for salei, and he's not european. Not saying thats a great thing, but what it does mean is that Detroit just got abit more tough and alittle bit more mean. If Commodore plays with his head too and not running around all over the place (which i couldn't see babs letting fly), our pk could show some improvement as well. i hope it works out mike! Now Kenny Bogasian would be nice.

Ozzie didn't play good, but neither did the entire team. Z? Dats? never injured Franzen? Stewie? Yet in hockeytown its still the same old song and dance, f*** our goalies. It was a bulls*** game from everyone, but knowing the redwings, they'll be alright. Dats and Z will get going soon, it always take Pavel a a couple weeks into the season to truly get going.
