The sports forecaster magazine has Detroit finishing 3rd in the central, Blackhawks in 2nd, and the Blues are indeed said to finish 1st. While I like that it's a bold move, I think for this event to happen you have to hope Blackhawks bomb it. Reason being Detroit are regular season kings when healthy (knocking), and I don't see why the sudden drop to 3rd when everyone is rested and ready to play. If St.louis is 1st in our divison, Detroit will be 2nd.

Babs is gonna be hard on Ericsson this year, I see him playing a lot of time on the PK. I hope Ericsson comes out with more edge in his game then shown. It usually doesn't just happen with players but E has the size to be a killer. When Franzen found out what he could do with his size his game soared. Whenever the Mule was angry he'd go score, and score, then at times score again, and again. E's just gotta get angry, and use his size to his complete advantage, don't let anyone through.

I'll take fault for Ozzy, that was bad, but I don't think Maltby is going to be resigned.

How epic would it be too see Lidstrom, Modano, Ozzy, and Draper go out on top. Before the off-season began I didn't think we would see any sort of significant player signed by Kenny, and although Modano may not get more then 40 points (i really hope he can crack 50), as Burke stated, his importance is much more then that, and the addition of the mouse makes Detroit that much stronger. I think this could help evolve Helm, Abs and Eaves further along, in having the presence of a North American born Veteran, and a quality one at that, all season. Should be fun. To save a little over a million dollars in capspace rather then keeping what could be your dynasty goalie doesn't make much sense to me. Hawks have had to embrace the fact of change sure, but paying your number 1 starting goalie who just won you a cup 2.75 million seems more then fair. I guess Niemi wasn't apart of "their core" which confuses me since being a starter, 26 year old stanley cup champion usually say's otherwise. Hell I should just be stoked they just replaced Niemi with Detroit's goal lamp.

I don't know if it goes on the Bonus Penalty, but if Huet is "as good as gone", his buyout will go against the cup. Has Huet been bought out yet?

That's a fair price for your starter. I don't think saving the 1.25 million in cap space having Turco instead makes more sense, so I'd be surprised if they walk away from this.

Stajan and White take care of 6.5 million of Calgary's salary, just as much as Phanuef makes. Its gonna be interesting too see how this pans out.

I would be biased too, this is the rivalled Blackhawks we are talking about, the fans who constantly chant "redwings suck". I don't need to do this insane rant for why i believe Hawks may sink or instead be ok. and rather just simply state "hey hawks, your f***ed". It's all a part of being a fan, who doesn't show homerism? How high of an IQ you think all those Hawks fans chanting "redwings suck" have, when technically a semi finals in 2007, a Stanley in 08, goal away for potential Stanley in 09, and a fair outing in 10, would say otherwise.
