I would choose Franzen over Hossa. He is clutch, the most clutch player on Detroit, and I've seen no one single handily dominate a game the way he can in some time. Hossa's a beaut during regular season, but Franzen is a mulebeast during the postseason, and Hoss not so much. Im happy management choose the mule over Hossa, he would be more missed then what Hossa has been. my "biased" vote: Franzen>Hossa

Helm for you (since this vid has been popular lately)

thats why there are 4 lines in hockey, not 2. Shall we look at depth Holmstrom has more points then both flip and cleary, but its ok he can be in our depth list. Along with Bertuzzi who again, had more points then both Flip and Cleary (not saying he is better). For youth we have players in Helm, Abdelkader, Ericcson, Kindl, Eaves, etc. Then the possibility of Modano, and if not the mouse then Miller, and Ritola come into play. Hows the Hawks depth look, remember injuries exist too. Stuart was no whipping boy last year, he was one of our best defensemen for a good portion of the year, with all of Detroits injuries. "Hudler? lol", will get us 70 points. I don't think hawks top 6 is better then Detroit's either. But its alright, your keeping "the core".

Sharp has been told he wont get traded, and Hawks will sign him as long as its under 3 Million, which it should be.
-
I just thank the lord Modano is not Williams this year, it already made this offseason better. no one can dispute this.
-
wow, nice to see Babs excited and confident for next year. Having Modano credit Huds on the PP, and Franzen in there as well, that unit could be a killer for whoever they face.
-
that was just speculation

I thought I read somewhere earlier that Minnesota said its unlikely they'd have room for him, but they would meet anyways to discuss possible options. So I think Detroit gives him the best chance to still prove himself, but I have a feeling he might just want to go back to the team where it all began, and end his career there because he couldn't in Dallas.
-
I knew it wouldn't be anything less then a Million. TBH I think thats a pretty fair offer, so I'm hesitant to believe its because of the money why Modano hasn't signed yet. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2010/07/red_wings_touch_base_with_kirk.html

Helm pulled some "mighty ducks" s*** against Campbell. The shift.

I know, best f***in dream ever. My link granted its 08-09, the Mouse still has some wheels! and a shot!!!
-
I always thought Huds made Helm better, so just have him on the fourth line.

I think one of the reasons why Modano would be joining the team is for players like Helm, Eaves, Miller and Abs to learn from. So I don't see Abs being sent back down to GR, and if so, I don't think it'd be for very long. Its wrong to think that we are not gonna have a few injury bugs here and there as well, so a deep roster is a problem worth keeping (if you can of course). I think the bottom six will look something like Huds - Modano - Cleary/Bert Abs - Helm - Miller/Eaves (abs and helm could switch off playing centre) but Babs likes to switch things around alot so who knows where players could end up really. It'll give the players at training camp no choice but to compete more, and I wouldn't be surprised if one of our pushbacked forwards gets traded by october anyways. A matter of who goes is a hard one to answer, Ritola hasn't gotten a real chance yet, Abs and Helm aren't gonna go, Miller is only making $6500. and Eaves is a key part to the penalty kill with some scoring potential.

He would have to take quite a paycut, and I don't think that'll happen, going by todays signing.
-
f*** if it would work or not, I just want The Mouse here. Plus Huds could potentially be pretty good with Modano, then imagine what that 2nd PP could do. Also Franzen would help, getting so much rest. SHEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTT

ow s***, didn't see this one coming. Patty just couldn't deal with the kids on the Oilers, maybe the game has changed to much for him.

Man is boston scary. 2 huge additions in Seguin and Horton without it even hitting july.
-
Bad ass Nystrom wears Uggs not only once, but several times when I have been working. ya i f**kin know! please no, he's a dick.
-
I would pass to be honest, I really don't see much need for him here anymore, and am tired of his terrible penalties in which he always puts his hands up just saying "Im guilty", and his constant one hand on the stick plays, 2 HANDS ON THE STICK, f***!

The Cleary one is amazing
-
Raffi enough with the turnovers, Howie is trying to accomplish something of his own

I'd probably root for the Pens. They like Detroit, know what it takes to win, and Crosby is amazing to watch. I know he and the pens hurt us, i got it firsthand. I flew to Detroit for game 5 in 08, and it came crashing down in seconds and hours (crazy s***). but I have respect for the team now through everything then I do for any of the other teams remaining. Also I want revenge more then anything, and thats another reason why Im rooting for the Pens to make it back.
