Red Wings GM Ken Holland hasn't given up on wandering Jiri Hudler
Superman54 replied to a topic in General
Hudler would be a nice addition to have back, He can put the puck in the net, and thats something our replacements (Bertuzzi, Williams) aren't capable of doing as of now. Holland was really hand cuffed last june though so you can't falter him. -
I think Meech played just as well as Lebs, if not better. Lebda should be out, and I think a bigger deal will be done then just giving up Williams.

It's unbelievable how some people think so little of the great one. He was a genius when it came to playmaking, and he scored like no other. He was so much ahead of everyone at the game, something I believe Ovy isn't. I think Crosby will be a better player in the end of their careers, and will get many more points then Ovy in the near future. Alexender is amazing, but I don't think he is going to get anywhere close to Gretzky's stats.

With Homer returning Sunday, who's the odd man out?

Not many teams need or want Maltby. He will stay with Detroit. -
Ozzie should have played a couple more games then just 1 this month. Babs didn't use a streaking Howard as wisely as I thought he could have.

People just hate winners. Its like when I listen to everyone cheer against Federer.

Filppula isn't Jesus Christ

haha clean? It was Ovechkin, and the playoffs, so people just let it slide. In my opinion, Ovy had no intent to move his knee out of the way when he collided with Gonchar.

I have no idea why people would want to trade Stuart. He is plain out awesome.

As bad as Bert is playing I see him netting one tonight. The first line will be an actual first line tonight, with Datsyuk racking up 3 assists. Just beat the Flames because after smack talking all the flamers on Halloween, I are waiting to spite me.
-
Biased opinion? well now your just throwing out random conclusions. I have never had a problem with Bert, till he got paired with Datsyuk that is. You bring up the hitting stats when talking about the red wings... yes because Detroit's all about the rough stuff. I am talking about Cleary grit, the grit Helm shows almost every shift he plays. Bertuzzi isn't playing grinding hockey, but yet your "baised" liking for him will make u think otherwise.
-
I have expectations for him to play with some passion, that's all. If you miss the amount of opportunities he has, someone determined enough could and would fix it. If you get a chance to play on the red wings first line, seize it! otherwise let someone else fight for the W. Bertuzzi is 34... May take's fists to the head every game at 40. What ive particularly noticed this season with Bert is that he is fast with the puck, and not so much without it. But then again he is only getting paid 1.5 million, so its ok to play careless hockey and let the skilled guys get your points too. Since when did 1.5 million dollars defy him, Bert isn't gonna be held back 20 goals because of his salary. edit: spelling

Thats quite amazing to actually have that many shots and lose. As the maple leafs are aware of...it never rains, it pours....all......season.............long.

I don't believe he is battling as hard has he could be. Whether he will in the future or not we'll just have to wait and see (im guessing not so much). Once the injury flue has passed, i believe Berts play will demote him to the third and quite possibly 4th line till seasons end. Thats if he chooses to continue playing the way he is, and not the dominant power forward that he can be. When Bert isn't playing with edge (clearly now) he is quite useless really. Though he could always prove me wrong...but i doubt that.
-
Bert has no desire in his game. He refuses to play how a power forward should. He won't go grind it out at all, and thats why we miss Franzen so much. Both Bert and mule have nice hands, but in the mule's case he plays tough, and finishes. Until Bert proves to play good, replace him with Abs. At least then we get some energy from a player who will actually go and fight along the boards.

I enjoy when the 3rd/4th line score our even strength goals. It kinda hints who should play above who.
-
Thank's again Bert. I know its in you Babs.

How I miss Hasek

Watching Bertuzzi makes it very obvious he doesn't care to score much. Big Bert has been playing with the like's of Datsyuk and yet fails to produce anything at all. He could be that power forward we saw before the "bobby clarke" moment, and a small bit in Florida before the "hockey gods" accident. But its evident he doesn't have it in him to score when need be, and has been showing it for 3+ years. edit: spelling

I would be thrilled to see Abs flipped for Bert. At least then we have a player who shows a little enthusiasm.
-
Im not stating this will happen, but I would be intrigued to see Detroit as a bottom seeder and watch how they respond in the playoffs.

With Kronwall now out you gotta think Ericsson is gonna be given a bigger role which scares me a little. I mean he is great, and has amazing potential but he isn't the brightest. He always throws it in-front of the net without looking (although recently it seems addressed) and many times just seems confused playing defense. I hope he is given more attention too this upcoming month, and try to improve (all be it) impressive play. Other then that I want Lebda out and Meech in. I have always hated Leech, yet I thought he played pretty good this year. Also put Janik in, then send Lebda down and if he is claimed thank the hockey lords. edit: spelling

bertuzzi being himself.

Out of curiosity, If Kovalchuck were to be a free agent this summer, is it possible to aquire him and his salary with the cap-space we have?. I know its a long shot but again, curious.
