Ive never seen Detroit so slow in the defensive zone, hardly any of them are moving their feet. Its the unmotivated factor when its in our own zone that kills.

If Helm is back then he should be centering the 3rd line.

Eaves should not be paired with Helm, because Helm better as hell be on the 3rd line when he returns.

I don't believe Bertuzzi is as good as Cleary, or Franzen defensively, but I have actually seen the big guy hussle back and break up plays in his own zone.

Bertuzzi was actually getting involved with the eurotwins creative plays last night. Once these guys get going Bertuzzi could very well be a good fit with them.

I believe the only trading we see from Kenny comes at the deadline. Sign a depth player, and go from there. I have trouble believing Franzen will be back this season though.

I refuse to believe its gonna be this kind of season. Franzen has a charlie horse, that is all.

I dont have a problem with Williams, I just don't see why we needed to add another player like him. If we signed more gritty players, Detroit would have been a very balanced team this year. I know the wings have proved they don't need a fighter, but after two grueling seasons itd have made more sense to bring in a player with some jump, and toughness.

Keep May in the lineup. As babs said, when you have a player like that dressed your skill players won't be taken advantage of. I wish we would have just signed a younger enforcer in the off-season to begin with, rather then settling with Williams, and Eaves. Detroit already had enough skill, we just needed some more grit.
