Id probably feel the same way, so im not here to criticize. But when he was asked if he wants to stay with Pittsburgh, you can't fault him for saying yes. Imagine if his response was, "no, I don't enjoy playing with a superstar like Crosby and Malkin", just try and think the retaliation he would recieve. Its common to have a player say he wants something, but then go on in another direction, so im not suprised by that. I do feel sorry for you Pen fans, the last couple of weeks have been rather tough.

Those were my thoughts exactly. The man was traded to Pittsburgh, and had no choice whatsoever on where to go. He did his part there, and thats all you can ask from him. Now because he would rather play for the team he, lets face it, likes more, the man back stabs Pittsburgh in the back. That right there makes no amount of sense to me at all.

Side Note* With the aquisation of Hossa, does this mean that we may actually skip signing Chelios again? I remember Holland saying how close he was getting the guy back, but now with the reduced salary space, has he re-considered? I guess it all comes down to how much Filppula signs, and once thats out of the way see how much is left for all the "spare tools".

Because Dats is more of a playmaker then Zetterberg is, I think he will be paired up with the sniper Hossa. Zetterberg and Franzen also play very well together

We have more then enough to re-sign Filppula, its just how much do you wanna give the guy...He isn't worth more then 3 million at this moment, and wings have about 4 million to spend.

to suggest Downey and McCarty over Filppula is a complete joke, that is entirely not funny. Samuelsson is also not as much of a defensive liability compared to McCarty. I see McCarty being a healthy scratch, 13 forward, at best! To put him on the 3rd line is beyond ludacrisy!

As Holland stated, we will probably be seeing a trade sometime in september, after he evaluated all of his defensemen. I think thats when we just might see our heavyweight come in.

TBH I would rather see Hudler play with Helm. Those two are amazing together, and could very well be the best 4th line in the NHL.

In the begging I have to admit, I hated Meech. But once a heep of our defense went out, the kid did play great. Since then I do hope to see him in the lineup more this year. With Quincey, I can't quite say, considering I havent seen him play all that much. One thing I do compliment him for was his playoff performance in 07. He kept it simple, even with the amount of pressure on his shoulders, and that right there showed me what he is capable of.
