Im seeing an offer of 2.5 million for 3 years toward Filppula. If its longer then I could see it range up between 2.75 - 3 Million. In no way will Filppula be as good as Dats is. As one of you pointed out, he doesn't have the greatest offensive knowledge to get him more then 50 points at this time.

Holland loves his defense, and if Stuart walks I have a feeling we will be seeing a new Defensemen on the wings before the season starts. I like how he mentioned a replacement for Drake, please be Nolan!

As did I, never would have thought for them to pitch him an offer, considering all the future talent they must re-sign. If they do re-sign Hossa, and Malkin, and Fluery, I don't know how they will be able to afford the likes of Staal, and all their young defensemen. With all that money going to offense, I do see much hope for their back end. I guess we will just have to wait and see how it plays out.

If Howard is our backup, then he should be at all times, not just go down when playoffs begin. He needs to gain that experiance.

that would be a good benifit for the jackets, but they are still missing alot on defense to be a threat. I hope Hossa somehow slips away from the Pens.

I do have to disagree when people say the guy is washed up, Matts is still putting up big numbers, and isn't even playing with the greatest players either. I think we would see something special between him and Franzen. So if Kenny could make the right deal happen, im all aboard.

Meh, I would have rather seen him step down this year and retire on top, but if he is ok with the role of being a healthy scratch for most nights then i guess its not too too bad. I just wonder why he doesn't wanna take a new approach to Hockey, like by being a assistant coach or something of that sort.

This is now the perfect time to bring Howard up and see what he can do. He has played 3 solid years in the minors, and its only fair to see what the kid has to offer. Give him 25-30 games this season, and we can evaluate him, and see if this guy can be our franchise goalie.

I really hope we do. Wings already have more then enough depth on Defense, so it would be wise to use this one on a forward IMO
