I have seen Helms name thrown around a few times now as trade bait, he's always been one of my favorite red wing so seeing him go wouldn't be the best news I've heard... His speed is a big asset especially to a team that thrives off quickness, but you have to move asset to attain one just the way the cookie crumbles. I just see him as a big part of our team late in the season and playoff time, what I consider a good depth player. He's been hurt for a large chunk the past 2 years, which doesn't make up for having stones for hands, except me believing he's capable of providing more given time. I really don't mind Eaves but Tootoo shouldn't be the odd man out. We have fillers in Sammy, Eaves, Tatar etc. all who play a certain style that's similar. I don't see how Tootoo should be the odd man out when he brings a different dimension that really, no redwing carries. It's a slow process for sure, but this breeds becoming "extinct". Are we expecting this many injuries that we will need the offence from all of Sam, Eaves, Tats, Nyquist, Glending that Tootoo's presence will not be needed? 43 is returning, life is good, and it's a good problem to have, but a problem Holland knew about even before he signed Cleary. Sammy to minors was never an option of his either, and its sad that players like Eaves, Tootoo, and even Tatar right now, are paying the price.

Why that goal didn't count is a cheap shot really. It wasn't like the puck was getting whacked away at, instead it was the following rebound from what was a typical hockey play and shot beforehand. No interference which should be the only case as to why this shouldn't count...If he acts motionless on the ice, don't let him play the rest of the game! You can pinpoint everything if you want, but if your up 3 to 1 yet have taken 6 penalties to 0, to me that suggests the goal lead is the only part of the stats sheet your winning. Except I believe Detroit haven't moved their feet any better then they did today, so the whole levelling the playing field wasn't preached for this one.

Suspect officiating tonight, as was mentioned seemed the calls going against Detroit weren't applying to Boston. After the post game interview with Babs even he seemed abit bewildered by the refs. Any case we left Boston with a good W, our secondary scoring showed up, Mule moved his feet like he should always do. Eurotwins at their finest, seriously amazing how good they compete against the elite teams. Besides some flopping around moments that i wish were cleaned up Gus played hard and made some great stops. All in all a good effort from the previous visit, and lets keep sacrificing the body with those blocked shots!!! P.S love DK's composure out there

Many don't see how much Franzen is a key for us IF he is scoring goals. You need a way to find a solution for his lack of production, not just demotion. Not saying they haven't been trying that but a unproducing Mule is a worse off redwings squad...I am not a very big fan of him personally, but he can be so effective when he is producing, scary sometimes. You should want success from Detroit more then watching a mule k down.

Good to see Alfy with a bounce back game. Love Toots stare down, plays with passion. You almost have to split up Dats and Zetterberg even strength if this bottom 9 can't help offensively. Its cruel because they are magic together but these vets need some jump and Weiss with Mule hasn't been working. If your not going to play nyquist or tatar and these guys can't figure it out then split our euro twins. The way i see it those guys are playing ageless right now, so they will probably create damage with whomever.
