The whole team plays piss poor on Saturday, Tatars first night, and Babs just assumed the reason was because of him?! In all seriousness Injuries are bound and those players like Tatar and Nyquist will get playing time and prove why they have to be on this club. I thought Nyquist demonstrated that point last season n' playoffs but i guess the smarter move was sign an allready full roster in Cleary, which would then mean sending Gus down....

He showed he's serious which is probably good for the kids in avalanche but trying to push the glass over is without saying, over the top. I mean i wasn't around for the 70's maydays so to me it's entertaining, but then again there is a reason why we probably don't see it anymore. Alfy played hard tonight, was nice to see how that vetty can still skate. Same goes for Weiss and his speed, showed some jump especially in the 1st. Once he sits well with our system, I see him being a nice fit. He goes hard to the net and thats great to see

As much as i don't agree with the bottom 9 you gotta believe Babs would know best. I have no problem if Bert scores a hattrick so prove me wrong. Excited for this season, lets have a good start!

I feel like Tatar plays the way Babs wanted Huds to play more like, going to the net, shoot first mentality, and Tatars playoff performance in the AHL shows this little guy's a competitor. Its early, not even a game in but I gotta hope soon Tatar gets the benefit of the doubt before some of our veterans.

As khan just suggested I think the 3rd line pairing of Nyquist-helm-bertuzzi make actually work... Greatly. If Bert is really healthy that's one role I could see him quite beneficial in. Could create lots of room for the speedsters on there

Holy s*** b@ll$ there are far too many crying posters on here. We replaced a soft player in pass first Filppula for a more hard nosed equally talented (I say more) centremen in Weiss. It's not charity, if Detroit was given everything they wanted then it wouldn't be much of a competitive league you fairies. I live in Calgary and the bloody flame fans are more optimistic then us about their cup chances.

Tooto might actually be played more then we might expect. Boston, Toronto, Ottawa will become rivals fast. Why not have a crazy train causing havoc n tickin off the opponent so bad they take stupid penalties. But that's just what I hope on...

Weiss has talent

We replaced a 2nd line euro for a Canadian. That alone has brought the Redwings more desire for a cup then last year. Not saying euros don't dream of the cup but every Canadian hockey player dreams of it daily.

If I could guess I believe it has more to do with Babs wanting Cleary back rather then Holland does. If this is the case though Kenny must have 1 or 2 trades lined up. Give Raymond the same salary I bet he takes it

every Ottawa insider hates Detroit now. Calling their team a upcoming champion basicially and calling Detroit for the 12th year in a row...old They seem to blank out the fact it was the Sens captain who choose to come here, so what does that really say about how respected your organization is. Alfy wanted to finish his career with some fellow swedes and now that Ottawa is mad and has a reason to prove him wrong, i think our swedes have something to prove too...to providing him a cup hes never had.
