Sure we didn't have our full third line yet, but we had all season to try and fix it. It's not like Helmer n the 2 others have been back n forth. Its the same situation all season, and in this league to be successful you have to find solutions that may bestow you. Every team faces adversity/injuries...30 goals would have helped no doubt but the problem is bigger then just one line. You'r having players that are severely underachieving (cleary,quincey,smith,zetterberg,brunner,filppula) and the way we found ways to win games in previous years aren't happening anymore.

when your not scoring goals you need players like zdawg to step up even more. Unfortunately the opposites happening and you can only wonder if he's hurt...I just wanna see some more emotion from the guy, he can't try and lead a team like Lids. We are not as strong as previous years and its time to hold some redwings accountable instead of repeating the same quotes "we played hard, but we just couldn't capitalize when we had our chances". His leadership will improve no doubt but being mr nice guy doesn't work for everybody.

Maybe thats why Kenny said he's not planning on signing anyone else this offseason. Cleary can go and our passion stays. He showed lot's of heart and if I was him id say the exact thing. Hockey isn't business when he see's himself playing in GR and a guy like cleary getting at some points this season, top 6 minutes....joke and thats my biggest complaint of thy coaching staff this season. It's a deep draft and the chances of wings getting a top 5 pick are even slim. So I don't see the emphasis as much to miss thy playoffs rather then keep the streak going, enjoy some post season, and bank on helmer being our messiah
