I am still confused as to how Orpik was injured. I have watched the play 20 times. He doesn't hit his head on the ice, he doesn't get punched by anything more than short rabbit punches and his head doesn't appear to snap back at all. I don't think Orpik is faking it but what happened ? Also, if he gets 15 games why did Emery get zero ? That was an attack in my opinion.

This one blows my mind and I am shocked it isnt being talked about more in the media. The only thing I can think of it the media was told not to discuss it. He could have killed someone. It's not like he just flipped it at him. He took a full windup slapshot. To me that is a match penalty intent to injure and he should sit 5 games. Unreal that this wasnt made a bigger deal.

So Direct TV has Toronto & Boston on NHL Network and Caps Rangers on NBC Sports. Anyone have any idea if this game will be on any other channel ? I dont see it on the guide. -

Nothing will happen but why does he stick his knee and leg out towards Howard ? It doesnt make sense. If he was trying to avoid contact (which he should) his leg would not stick out like that.

I dont like it. One of my favorite things about Barry Sanders was the class he displayed on the field. He would score a TD, hand the ball to the ref and walk off the field.

No, I really would have said the same thing if it was the other team. I am sick of the refs inconsistencies. Let the play go. I am not saying Chicago should have gotten a penalty either.

It looks like he got him above the shin pad although there didn't seem to be too much of a wind up. Who knows. That's the issue with these calls/no calls. The ref has to judge if he truly took a dive and that isn't easy do.

Why do people keep talking about Zetterberg hitting Weber in the head. I have watched the replay 10 times now and I don't see any contact at all. Also, is there video of the Bertuzzi punch ? I haven't seen it. -

I want to know what people think Kronwall is supposed to do in that situation. Let him go by ? hug him ? That is a clean hit, a hockey play.

My big issue with NHL.com is that even when Crosby isnt playing and there is literally nothing worth reporting on him, there are still several stories about him in the 'Top Headlines' box on the right of the page. I remember once that 4 of the 11 to 13 or so stories in that box were all Crosby a few months back. I am not even a big Crosby hater it is just ridiulous that someone, anyone not playing makes the headline stories that much.

Barry Melrose (who isn't a big Wings fan) said when asked about the streak that he is surprised there isn't more talk about this in the media. The Wings play in the best division, the talent and teams in the NHL are better today than they have ever been, todays goalies are better and bigger.
