Of course....all I mean is that when you get a helmet to the chest, leg, arm, head from a football helmet it is violent. If hockey players hit with their helmets it would be much worse for the person doing the hitting...they just don't do that. The nature of tackling has players leading with their heads.

The thing with football is that those helmets are weapons. A hockey helmet is very flimsy piece of plastic. Most football players hit with their helmet and thats what makes it more violent.

100% wrong...if any Wing past or present got hit like that I wouldn't say a damn thing. It was a clean hit. There is a reason there is no buzz around the league about the hit....it's because there was nothing wrong with it.

No way now how was this hit either dirty or illegal. Both players body positioning just happened to be right for their to be head contact. There is nothing Kronwall did or could have done differently. It is going to happen from time to time. It is just the nature of the sport.

I actually think this hit is worse. From behind into the boards. Doan is really starting to drive me crazy with his unnecessary hits. He needs to show some respect to other players in the NHL. Hit people clean, FINE but these hits are all hits that could very easily injure and did.

This game is awful. Bad bounces, bad play, nothing getting through, injuries. The only positive is.....well, nothing.

I am sick of ANY team who goes after our players when they are very obviously frustrated because they are being outplayed. The NHL in my opinion needs to crack down on this BS.

If the NHL wants to focus on things in the game they should start focusing on these baby teams who start playing dirty when they are getting dominated. I am so sick of people going after our guys because they are getting out played. The ONLY play in that game that warranted (maybe) was Z's hit/interference. Everything else was just simply crying. The refs were also horrible at trying to control what was going on too. The hit from behind on Kronwall from Ryan (no call), The Mustache going after Cleary on a clean hit (no call) and Brookass going after Staurt for ???? Nothing ?? Pisses me off.....

Looks like that for me too. I show channels with home and away feeds for three other games. Why on earth would they not show the Wings first game of the season ?
