just wanted to say that whoever ran the contest last playoffs needs to do it again because they did a fantastic job

i live for this time of year. im like Dallas Drake in the playoffs, the photoshop thread brings out the best in me! and its exciting to have a fresh new team to rip on. ill have something posted by game 1 for sure great first post with "Choke" GO WINGS!

it was my understanding that the injury wasnt terribly serious but management felt like it wasnt really worth taking a look at him if he wasnt 100%. no sense making it worse and eliminating the option of having him in the playoffs

nabakov has always been a great regular season goalie, same goes for the rest of their team.....its the playoffs where they choke, its no secret. who knows maybe this year is different but im not handing them the cup just yet. i feel like they are 1 injury/1 tough first round matchup from being in deep s*** as for mason..... damn that kid can play. i drafted LeClaire in my fantasy league, needless to say, hes been replaced!

ive been saving my first post of the season for the biggest game of the season!!!! this is without a doubt a statement game and the rest of the league will be watching, so i have no doubt our boys will come out flying for a full 60 mins. sharks are on a back to back and a little banged up..... im going wings 4 (homer, hudler, maltby, lidstrom) sharks 2 (grier, boyle)

Thank you so much for creating this thread Duck Guy. you saved me the trouble of having to do it. I love LGWs but sometimes i cant stand it on here. some people should be embarrassed to call themselves fans. theyll never admit it but its obvious theyre one of the following.............. (1) a selfish fair-weather fan whose bitter. they want it NOW and they want it so THEY can feel good. i dont live in Detroit...hell i dont even live in Michigan, so there will be no parties or parades for me. no home ice celebrations, no banner raising ceremonies. i want the wings to win for THEM. i want the players ive watched work their asses off all year to get what they deserve. and one loss isnt going to change my mind, even if a win tonight would have been better for me personally. sorry if they inconvenienced your life in any way tonight. or (2) a punk kid who hasnt learned that life is full of disappointments. its gonna happen. suck it up and move on. i think the Wings will win game 6 but you know what? even if they dont, even if they get shut out the next two games and Pitt wins the cup, i wont get down on them. ill start looking forward to next season and relish the fact that we ice a team that can compete for the cup each year. or (3) someone who has never been a part of a winning team of any sort, athletic or not. s***ty attitudes will get you nowhere. winning comes from believing in the person next you, helping each other out when things dont go your way, and learning from your mistakes. i guarantee there isnt a single guy in that dressing room whose even close to thinking they way some of you are. go listen to Babs' press conference youll see what i mean. on behalf of all the positive fans out there, LETS GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!! thanks again Duck Guy.

haha, the guy who made the massive list of non calls is clearly on some sort of narcotics. he states later in his post that, "The Detroit Red Wings are a fraud. Nicklas Lidstrom plays defense worse than Sergei Gonchar". but it seems like most of the other people posting in that thread have a lot more common sense and more of a realistic attitude toward each teams performance

QFT the desire and adrenaline level of that line would be through the roof if you add Abdelkader. as for the whole Dmac/Downey thing..... its a push. take away the names and history and youre just talking about a couple of non-impact players that dont bring much to the table for this series. i must say though, ill be really upset if Hartigan suits up. he takes WAY to many untimely penalties, something that obviously hurt us yesterday

yeah and a few days ago it was "the wings just need to win 1 of the next 4 games" im officially concerned

franzen better man up and pop a few tylenol for game 6. wow we were awful
