that would be a fun series to watch but id rather see washington face montreal 1st round and have Huet beat the team that traded him

because a lot of Americans are ethnocentric. they find it difficult to accept having a sports league with a large number of players who werent born here and dont speak english. also, many of them are too lazy and stupid to try and learn the rules (which obviously arent complicated at all) so they get confused and turn the channel and id also add that most of our sports media personalities hurt the NHL by only discussing its negative aspects while giving WAY too much air time to the other major sports until the league finds out how to better market the league to the un-informed casual viewer, nothing will change

damn straight, it needs to be a fair fight (highly unlikely since pronger wont drop em with anyone capable of knocking him out) embarrassment might be the only thing that will stop him. id hate to see him get cheap shotted like the Steve Moore incident and completely vilify the "attacker" while giving sympathy to the "victim"

i surely would have included Mike Cammalerri on their list but whateve

was that your grandpa i saw....oh wait that was Hasek

am i the only one who doesnt see blake going to SJ or the Ducks?? i know he said he wanted to stay on the west coast but i just dont see it happening. if im a GM i dont want to do anything to possibly make another team in my division stronger by giving them assests, and then essentially giving Blake back to them next season. and dont the ducks and kings HATE each other?

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=230531&hubname=nhl guess you can cross Mareu off the list...

much respect Mr Sundin, much respect

i think its important to keep in mind that if the playoffs started today the Ducks and Sharks would play each other. after that series one team will be out of it while the other will most likely be banged up quite a bit. and thats a big plus for the wings
-
hes too small for my taste

i saw him play down here in desmoines about a month ago and i was very impressed. he was easily our best D man that night, never really made any mistakes. i wouldnt say he was overly physical though...didnt get into a fight or anything, but he did play the body a lot. he looked pretty good on the power play too. from what ive read about his career he only recently started playing D, used to be a center i guess. oh and i heard he had a 100 mph shot at the AHL all star game :!: kindl on the other hand made some big mistakes and seemed to be unsure of himself a lot. but i could see why everyone is high on him, looks like he just needs to smooth out some edges

eklund says matty ellis was put on waivers today by the wings. im not familiar with all that stuff, does this mean anything or is it standard procedure before sending him back to GR??? -

yeah damn good post! just for giggles though, what would it look like with brunnstrom in there for next year too??? cant remember the max contract for players in his situation but isnt it like 850k? and theres no way cleary is included in a deal to the thrashers....1. because kenny wont trade him and 2. atl needs players that can play through the end of this season, not players on IR
-
yeah there shouldnt be any hesitation to pull the trigger on this deal from a player to player perspective. hossa is in the thick of his prime and would not be a rental. and flip, while having some decent potential, will never come close to being what hossa is-was-or will be. but the financial problems down the road do pose a problem. can anyone out there with some spare time try to crunch the numbers and see what the payroll situation would look like if we kept the players mentioned above and signed Hossa?? im sure it will involve some serious guess work but try to be a realist
-
hes fine. came back the next period and played well. probably just headed straight for the dressing room since the period was almost over anyway. good to see him break out of his slump!!!
-
yeah i hope management and zetterberg both realize that his injury situation NEEDS to play a major role in the size of his next contract. if not there will be major problems for us
-
id trade him for a box of blank VHS tapes, a carton of swisher sweets, Cory Cross, windshield wiper fluid, and future considerations.
-
Gratton and Stuart oh and im pretty sure Dumont is off the table since he just got resigned

from thestar.com Cleary said he hopes to get a deal done and stay in Detroit. "On the free-agent market you never know what you're worth, but I'm certainly willing to take less to stay here," Cleary said. "We have a great chance to win every year. They've treated me well. I believe in loyalty and the fact they gave me a chance is something I'll never forget." can we please stop all this trading cleary non-sense now??

1. luke skywalker 2. Mr. Bellvadere 3. Kirby Puckett 4. Rambo 5. Fredrik Olausson im not sure if we could convince Olausson to come back but other than that you better make it happen Kenny

hhhmmm, ok if the wings were at the bottom of the standings and had a stupid GM id give this notion about a 50/50 chance of happening. but since we are certain to make the playoffs and kenny is not a moron, theres ZERO chance Cleary gets traded....for anyone! its obvious that we have a good shot at the cup this year and that Cleary one of the reasons why. the risk of loosing him for nothing in the off season is nowhere near the reward of winning the cup this season. that being said, i think theres about a 5% chance of cleary leaving in July. if he decides to take the money then so be it, but my gut tells me he remains a wing and still gets a pretty fair raise

not exactly an animal but i think it works
