I agree here, I thought the refs sucked again early on. I was, however, happy that they didn't let the cheapshots go later in the game. I also agree that the guy who got Flip in the jaw with a shoulder (with the puck no where in sight) should have been treated the same way Kronwall was for the hit on Havlat. Just because Flip wasn't knocked out, it was only 2 minutes. Lame. Glad to have won, that's for sure, but was really worried someone was going to get hurt. We really don't need any more injuries.

I hate to say it, but this is exactly what I expected. The Hawks just aren't ready yet. The Ducks were. I thought the Sharks and Bruins were. If the Wings don't sail to the Cup now, I'd be extremely shocked. The Ducks, IMHO, were the only team that could beat us and they had to do it by wearing us down. Specifically, by injuring us. It didn't happen. Worn down, but no injuries. I agreed with Bucci, whoever won the second round between the Ducks / Wings would win the Cup. I definitely think the Ducks would have taken the Cup if they could have taken us down. Anything can happen, I'm aware of that. But there is no team like Detroit. it's our Cup to lose.

It seems obvious that the officiating of WCF game 2 was in our favor for the first time during these playoffs. The refs treated the Hawks like they had treated us when we played the Ducks. We caught so many breaks it got kind of embarrassing. Yes, the Hawks got away with a couple, but they could have called way more on us. Nothing violent, just hooks, holds, interference, and slashing a stick in half. The call on Byuifliegn and Lidstrom cancelled out, neither of those should have been called.

It'll be a miracle if we win this series. It's not easy playing a really good team and really retarded refs. I wonder how many 5-on-3s we'll see in the third... although, I guess that depends on if we're still winning.

Although the Pens / Caps bias annoys me... it DOES say 7-game-SERIES, not best game 7. So people at least have 6/7ths of an opinion rather than zero.

I agree that the instigator doesn't fit here... BUT! It'd be nice to find a reason to suspend some of these guys since you know they'll turn a cold shoulder to Niedermayer's elbow even though they shouldn't.

Sure, and I've also seen that the Wings defense doesn't freak out and swarm him with 2-3 guys at once like Datsyuk must deal with every time he's on the ice. It's much easier if you only have one guy to beat.

Is there actually an official "instigator" penalty that would literally be written on the scoresheet? It seems to me that by giving those guys 10 minute and game misconducts that the refs were deeming them instigators by that specific rule in the last 5-minutes. Not sure though.
