it looks to me that you're only penalized if you take your own helmet off... maybe guys can settle down for an extra 2 seconds and remove the opposing fighter's helmet for him... haha. As a side note since all of this makes sense, I did hear that the MLB will be using a new ball this year made with 100% fresh marshmallows.

was anyone able to get ahold of the tickets today? The site keeps putting me in a "virtual waiting room"... I was able to get through on my iphone (i was running a couple browsers on the coputer and the iphone on the side) but when I got through a minute or two after selling started... it said "This event is currently not available for sale through the web."

Peter Forsberg is such a disgrace to the NHL... how many times will this guy skip the whole regular season and just return for the playoffs? It's despicable. He's making a mockery of everything the NHL and the Stanley Cup has stood for. I don't stand for this.

this is how things go... it's not easy to get fired up 100% when you've won it all the year before. they know what they need to do, they know what precautions they need to take... they'll be fine come April. I'd much rather see Kronwall lay off the big hits through the regular season to shield himself from injury... then in the playoffs, it's a different game.

I've seen Quincey play a heck of a lot of games out here in LA and I REALLY like him... but I have to disagree. The Wings are just too skilled and deep, letting go of Quincey was the right call... now he gets to bask in the sunshine and play 20 minutes a night. I'm sure he's not too distraught.

whoa, that could be awesome... do u know how well you can see from a rooftop there? (im sure it depends which building, but you know what i mean). i ask because $350 is pretty steep unless you really can see well.

The NHL Should Change the Way it Shows its Games
pavyaz19 replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
i have to say... i kinda like those angles. it seems that the camera usually can't quite keep up with the play, but those operators will get better. cameras that low to the ice really help show the speed of the game. not sure if i could watch it for a full game though. every other sport shows games from a standard broadcast angle, might as well not change it. i'm sure bettman will have a lame reason and tell us fans what we want once again. -
whoa, that seating chart is scary... and confusing. i would think the tickets behind the plate / infield would be the closest and most expensive... instead they are the cheapest and "limited view"??? The most expensive seats are in the upper deck??? how about the seats in deep center, i would hate to pay $400 /each and be that far away. I'm starting to second guess my willingness to shell out hundreds for this game. might be much better from home. i'll be in chicago for new years... any red wings bars? haha.

Hats off to RWNW! Way to pack the Staples Center

yeah, that middle finger was extremely poor taste. i was hoping it was a kings fan that did it. way to ruin a fun thing that they do in a place full of little kids. -
i have a pair of extra tix at center ice in the upper bowl for this game if anyone in LA wants to go... send me a message. the kings have showed some potential lately but I expect us to destroy them anyway. it shouldn't be close. if we get beat, we played horrible.

wow, emrick and his partner are about as annoying as they come. how many obvious things can they point out? "premeditated"??? you think? nah, i carry around smoke bombs all day, that guy probably does too and just got bored by the video review and accidentally lit one and dropped it up over the glass onto the ice. premeditated... no crap you retards.

ah, the american way... putting someone down for not cherishing poor customer service on most-likely illegal items. way to go soultrain, that's one honorable comment!
-
for his defense, the kings were on the power play for much of the game and LaBarbera let in some easy ones too. Kings still would have won if the goalies played better. I haven't seen the Kings play that well in a while... too bad they have to play us in a couple weeks.

this study is kind of weird... is this for a family of four only going to one game a year? maybe it's me and my family, but they're saying that a person has a drink and a half per game, buys one hat and one program for every two people. maybe it all evens out after you average the cost of nachos / a team jersey to all that. if that's not the case, then it seems weird to me. do all of you spend that much at each game you go to? if you're just going to one game a year, it makes sense to me. this is my usual spending for two people at a Kings game (I go to 8-15 a year). tickets $40 (x2 $80) parking $10 hot dogs $6 (x2 $12) 2 large beers $9 (x2 $18) program $2 total for 2 people at LA Kings game: $122 i guess for four people it would be $244 which is pretty close to their average $279.40 price. maybe i just think it's weird solely on the multiple programs and more than one drink per person. either way, I'd be curious to see what other people spend money on at games to see if their estimations are accurate... on the other hand, you may now be dumber for reading all of that.

NOOOO! the Kings need to stay in LA so I can see the Wings here twice a year. you can move the rest to canada (back to canada) though.
-
if Bud's getting too old, I think they should record his voice saying all the names and making all the calls / announcments then just have someone up there with a sound board. it's not a Wings game without Mr. Lynch.
-
don't you realize how much money this guy makes on the Wings? plus, they just won the Cup and therefore brought in plenty of extra (high-priced) play off games, and all the merchandise, etc. I will never understand big-business backing when it comes from the people who are the ones feeding it and fighting for higher prices. never. Will you bite the hand that feeds you? -nin edit: oh and, who wants to join my online petition for McDonalds? I'm fighting to have them raise their dollar menu prices by 10% because they've had everything at $.99 for a decade and gee whiz, those burger flippers need a raise! Who's with me? I want to pay more!!!!
-
I understand your faith and support in the Red Wings organization... but yes, lowering prices would make tickets more affordable to a lot more people. Maybe you have a lot of money and therefore will never understand what it's like to not be able to go to a game because it's too expensive. There is a big difference if a seat is ten dollars cheaper for working-class people.
-
Yeah, I was gonna say... I do wish I would have gotten Brad Marsh though, damn. edit: oh and, thanks much to the guy for putting up the tickets... really cool of you dude!
-
that jersey is really cool... but I'd rather have the candy-cane one that just says "Detroit"... so classic. winter classic.

not sure lightinthebox fits the description of a large corporation. but if you don't think it was worth a try, then that's up to you. it was fun to mess with them and their illegal ventures.

i thought you guys would think this is funny... I was the original poster of this topic. I was thinking, hmmm, I created a decent amount of buzz and business for this website that they wouldn't have otherwise had. So I contacted them about buying a Zetterberg jersey for myself and requested free shipping. Through the broken English and 30 minutes of discussion (which was halted many times because they kept disabling their chat service by saying they were "on the phone". Each time they did that, it would end my ability to type back to them. I had to keep closing the chat box and starting over, they would let me get a few words in, then they would say a phone call needed to be answered... I was cracking up). Anyway, I can see them over there, surrounded by illegal knock-off jerseys yelling to each other "it's that pesky American again! He won't stop! Doesn't he know that all our profit comes from shipping! Doesn't he know that he cannot undo his free promotion of our site! Muhahahahhaha." Anyway, thought you would think that's funny. Moral of the story: don't expect any respect from a company dealing with illegal products. It was fun to mess with them anyway. haha.

did any of you receive your brand new chinese jerseys yet?

He must be putting Yzerman in a seperate category altogether. That would make sense... sure Lidstrom best Wing since Howe... Yzerman has reached God-like status, so it would be unfair to Lidstrom to rate he and Yzerman in the same list. Give me a break, for the first time ever a magazine doesn't kiss Lidstrom's butt like the rest of you, maybe they are right.
