The Wings are currently sitting 8th in the west but the fortunate thing about our situation is we currently control our destiny. With the standings looking like they currently do right now. The other very interesting point is the two teams that trail us, Phoenix and Dallas, are both on our schedule in the remaining 8 games. The thing that scares me is we could be going in to game 48 against Dallas with a Winner gets playoffs game. Kinda like in 2010 when the Rangers played Philly and winner went on to the playoffs. Philly ended up winning that in a Shoot out. It's usually pretty obvious to say if you play better then the team below you then you will seed higher, but lucky for us even if we win just as many games as they do the rest of the way. We are still in.... This is going to be a fun final 8...

Yea I agree 7th would probably give us out beat match up... I wouldn't mind matching up against Vancouver... But losing to a guy like burrows would really piss me off..

Yup, currently we still are the ones that decide if we're gonna make it or not... Because Dallas is the only team above us and we play them... Playoffs are ours if we want then bad enoigh

The crazy thing is if we catch a winning streak here we could be looking as high as 5-6 seed instead of 9th... It's crazy how close the playoff race is... The big games will be us vs Phoenix and Dallas...

Yea the last two loses really hurt us... But we stil got points which sorta helps... Lucky for us the only really tough game is Vancouver... We play a lot of the teams that are chasing us and we need wins against them. That's for sure...

Because we don't have a number 1/2 defenseman besides Kronwall and there really aren't a ton out there. That's really my thinking behind Yandle. I would love to know of any other top 2 dmen are out there and available.

I know it won't happen but I really think we should move white and Quincey for whatever we can get... Even if it's only a 2nd round pick each. Those picks could either be used to draft or used to sweeten up a deal for a top 2 dman for next season. Aka a guy like yandle, or find more of a shut down guy to play with kronwall so he can roam more. Giving us hopefully something in the next two years... Kronwall - Shutdown/Yandle Smith - Big Rig Kindl - Dekeyser... Lashoff?
