nice job Matt. I thought I missed it and heard a guy talking about the wings and didn't know it was you until it was over You really did a good job, you seriously sounded like a sports radio broadcaster. once again nice job.

Wings win, Ducks score first. Pasha and Hank on the powerplay. Lets Go Wings heres to another great season. Everyone make sure to order their Little Caesars tonight also. Its not a wings game if you don't have Little Caesars Pizza on hand.

just wondering what everyone thought about Igor's goal in the shootout, I can't imagine the pressure he had on him to score that. He put a nice move on and scored the goal like I knew he would. I give the guy props, Babcock says hes improving everyday which is good to hear, Hopefully he will keep working hard and become a part of our future along with Filppula and Hudler. Let him skate on a line with Pavel for one Pre-season game and I gurantee he plays even better. I also liked Kopecky's move in the shootout he is starting to impress me more and more aswell. and finally Ritola has came out of no where, that guy has potential aswell and I hope we see him playing for the Red and White in the future. Future holds good things for our Red Wings

Datsyuk or Zetterberg have my vote for most likely, my other pick would be Filppula but with the way Chelios has been playing who knows he might get it haha this is the year of Chelly I can feel it.
-
cool now that the Ducks elected him since hes such a good guy, maybe we can have O.J. Simpson for our next Captain.
-
I think you misunderstood me Toby, I never said He has potential just because of the shootout goal. I was simply saying he is starting to shows signs of what he can do the thread title might suggest that just trying to say Overall the guy has potential and he is starting to show signs of it here and there but the little plays and things like the shootout goal. , the more and more he adjust to North American hockey from Russian Hockey. I've seen some of his Super League games and the guy sees the ice really well. Just good to see him getting more comfortable on the ice here and look forward to great things from him. and yes the goal was nice as well.

as always thanks for the pics. his jersey looks good with the A on it too

you need a code for the old jerseys in NHL 08 ? or the new jerseys? and if you have the code could you post it as well. thank you
-
I was wondering if NHL 08 was going to have all the new jerseys and stuff. good to hear, hopefully it also has the old ones as well. I have to get this game.

great post, I agree with pretty much all of it. You should post more often your opinions on everything you said are very logical. look forward to another great season and thanks for the kind words about the rest of us on the LetsGoWings community. oh and for any Wings fan in Colorado, I give you a extra pat on the back.

like this new jersey a lot. I don't know what happened this year with all these weird jerseys. The sharks jersey is awful and I forget which one had a two flags on the shoulders, the Flames I believe we just goofy looking. I also don't like the Canucks jerseys with Vancouver above the logo to much stuff cramped on the front. this jersey is clean and true to tradition good for the Leafs.

my good buddy gord sid and ted how was your summer? You already know how I am, I am militant at times yes, but fair 99% of the time. I I don't have nothing against joking around or anything I just thought the setting was improper for it thats all. Dmitriy was kind enough to post up pictures of his good friend, exclusive none the less and instead of thanking him for the pictures people start making fun of Pavel saying he looks funny, and he swings a bat like a girl, I just feel it was uncalled for and will go to war for my friends and heros anyday. Dmitriy is my friend and Pavel is one of my Heros so what would you do in that situation. Not to mention the fact that it was charity. Thats all I was saying. not trying to be a stiff or anything but I think Dmitriy and Pavel derserve a little more respect. I could tell Dmitriy was botherd by the comments a little as was I. So no big deal done and over with but next time think about stuff before you post thats all I'm asking. See you around Gordie. you know your hockey and I enjoy a lot of your post but I also enjoy the feuds you and myself endure over the season as well. cheers

here we go again another season with captain negative. Lilja was the whipping boy all last season until he started to play physical in the playoffs then everyone was all over him like he was a god, pain train bandwagon I like to call it, then the guy makes a mistake that cost us the entire playoffs and its back to Lilja sucks. Hank what player(s) are you going to bash all season this year? Lilja is young and as he gains more experience will make less mistakes but no doubt about it we need his size and physical pressense because we don't have to many guys like that on our roster. I ask for everyone to give Igor a break now I ask for you Hank to give Lilja a break the season hasn't even started yet, he could have improved 110% this off season. I respect your opinions as a hockey fan but try not to be so negative man. and Drake_marcus I know everyone doesen't feel that way about Igor but their were many in this thread that were. no worries man. take it easy

thats fine, you can make jokes but think about the way you said it. the guy is a detroit red wings not a detroit tiger, would you be making fun of pudge if he was out onthe ice trying to skate?? all I'm saying is give the guy some respect for playing for charity. not a lot of baseball going on in Russia.
-
New arena will be great for Pittsburgh, but I kinda like Mellon Arena too. Their is something about that place, same with the Joe. A lot of history and good times, and they even shot a movie in Mellon Arena. cool design but just to old.
-
yeah? We'll do hundreds of people line up alongside the baseball field waiting for autographs from her?? Datsyuk has more talent then many of us could only dream about. The guy goes out to play for charity a game for fun and you guys rag on him how stupid is that. He could have stayed back at his million dollar home but he didn't no worries Datsyuk will be leading us to Lord Stanley in the near future.
-
Give the guy a break, Hes still trying to adjust, not only to North American hockey but to everything here. Keep in mind he is a long long ways from home, he and his family haven't been here long and all they flew miles and miles over the ocean to the U.S. a strange place for them, he can't speak english very well to make things worse. The guy has to be tired from the trip and the stress of moving, He will impress all of you before its all said and done. The guy has talent or we wouldn't have ask him to come all this way. Just imagine what it would be like if you had to pack up your family at 24 years old and fly to Russia, where you can't understand anybody for the most part and on top of that start training camp for NHL and battle not only all the other prospects that want to play in the NHL but impress all the "fans" at the same time. just a thought, Igor might not like this type of hockey and may return home but I feel he will stay and suprise all of you before the season is done. time will tell. give the guy a break, how did I know this would happen.

Nice pictures I like them. It looks like Dats was having a great time. Malts as well. I can't wait for the season to start. also them Jerseys are awesome, I like how the font on the back is the same as the hockey jerseys. thanks for posting this up.
-
Like I mentioned above, not trying to offend, but growing up in Russia you shouldn't be bothered with the name Pasha, or others such as Sasha and Masha. A lot of Capital fans call Ovechkin Sasha, doesen't make him seem soft. anyways no worry, Pavel was called Pasha long before he came to Detroit so its not a big deal and shouldn't matter, people call him Dats, and with other players like Zetterberg, who is often reffered to as, Z or Hank. either way it doesen't really matter what fans call players, the team uses the names they want, what us fans think or call them is irrelavent.

I was reading the Detroit Red Wings roster on the official site and noticed a guy named Hartigan was #13 along with Pavel, did we just sign this guy and why does it say hes number 13?? has to be a typo or something
-
nothing to do with being cute, very common in Russia. that being said, no offense but a guy with a cartoon for his avatar shouldn't be calling things "kiddie"
-
I was just wondering if anyone had any info on the Yzerman Dvd that was suppose to come out, with career footage highlights and stuff.
-
good stuff who is Sersei? rumor has it Feds might be offered a contract to come back home to Detroit. He wouldn't comment exacly to the press about it but was in Detroit recently and I guess Columbus is going to buy out his contract either way. only rumors but I would love to see Feds play for the Wings again. and that video with him and Shanny never gets old. " I love you to my brother"
-
what do you mean, Datsyuk is # 13, I was just wondering who this Hartigan guy was, his profile pictures shows him in a Blue Jackets jersey. I know Datsyuk will remain 13 and its a joke if anyone thinks he would give his number up, it was never about that, just thought it was weird them putting him on the roster with Datsyuk's number, who cares what number he was last season, I personally find it a joke that his name is on the roster, and nothing about Igor. Thats the funny part. looking forward to another great season of Red Wings hockey, and being amazed by Pasha and Z's skills. and also can't wait to see if Igor makes the lineup and reunites with Datsyuk. oh and Holland get Markov signed, their is noone else on the market worth getting.
