Franzen hasn't beeb seen since that night in May 2010.

I wouldn't say he's that much better in that department. Smith has a LONG way to go both offensively and defensively. I should say I missed alot of the first period, so maybe I missed a couple things.

He's been fine defensively tonight. Much improved from the beginning of the year

been saying this for three years. Our wingers don't stay on the boards during breakouts, which doesn't help. It's coaching. Doesn't work against fast teams and requires smart defensemen, which we don't have

Phoenix hasn't played since last Thursday, and the Wings play them in their barn on a back to back, 3 games in 4 nights. How the f***?

The speedy teams in the East are gonna have a field day with this guy, he can't keep up anymore. Zero footspeed. You're comparing two completely different players. Either way, Murray has been a disaster for the last 2 years.
