Solid win by Detroit. We got away with a 4 on 1 but the D was air-tight during the last 10 minutes of the 3rd. P.S. Dallas is pathetic... it's clear they can't keep up with us so I guess they decided they should try to stir up some s*** because that would accomplish a whole lot of NOTHING.

Well Dallas offered him $2 million a year and playing time so they can take him. Granted he may well develop into a big scoring line winger, but it would have rubbed our youngins the wrong way if some guy who has never proved anything came in and got the contract, playing time and star treatment he desired.

Game 1 even 'til Thursday? I'm wary of any team with a hot goalie that seems to always come through in OT... and Detroit is gonna be rusty in game 'cause we haven't played a game with playoff intensity since Game 3 against the Avs. I expect us to win games 2 and 4 and come back home tied after 4 games.... the winner of game 5 will win the series in 6, and it will be.... .... Detroit!!

The more hard-fought and tighter series would be better for the league, but you know what would be even better? The Wings in the finals!! In conclusion; short series good, long series not as good.

It was a bit weak but I don't think it was that soft; Liles shot that perfectly and on the replay you can even see that it hit the post before going in. Although Ozzie should have come out to challenge the shot the play happened quickly and it was more of a slapper. The 3rd Avs goal was all Detroit's fault.

They've got the deepest group of skilled forwards in the league (Sakic, Forsberg, Hejduk, Stastny, Smyth, Wolski, Brunette, Svatos, Arnason) and a decent top-4 D of Foote, Liles, Salei and Hannan. However we a little bit younger up front (shocking I know! ) have more team speed and a significant edge on D. In the end I don't think their defense can cope with our aggressive forecheckers.
