Great win!! There are stretches where they took it to us but we'll take it. Lidstrom and Hasek were AMAZING, and I'm beginning to believe that Datsyuk can be 'da man (I never thought I'd say that).

Wow. Coming back from being down 19 on the road is awfullying tough but the Pistons made it look so easy! Is it too early to be looking forward to a Pistons/Cavs rematch?

The way I see it: Offense - Detroit (similar top-end talent but the Wing are a bit deeper) Defense - Anaheim (Wings just lost a #2 D-man; Ducks have two of the top 3 in the league. This could be a mismatch) Goaltending - Even (Giguere has been more consistent, but Hasek has been clutch) Special Teams - Anaheim (similar PP numbers, but Anaheim has by far the playoffs best PK%) Coaching - Detroit (Babcock's experience and knowledge of certain Anaheim personnel gives him the edge) Intangibles - Even (Detroit has overcome more adversity and has the home ice advantage, but Anaheim is healthy and rested)

Considering how Lidstrom stepped up after Schneider went down in game 5 (not to mention shutting down Joe Thornton), I'd say the whole team owes him a beer.

Well Datsyuk REALLY stepped it up in games 5 and 6 after my infamous "Paging Datsyuk" thread after game 4 didn't he? He even came through on the road (along with Hasek, Lidstrom, Cheli and the entire Wings D obviously), and winning in 6 games instead of 7 gives us a fighting chance against the Ducks. Keep it up Pavel!

Firstly I must say GREAT win last night. Now that the dust has cleared I'm gonna play Devil's Advocate; I'm still concerned with one Pavel Datyuk, our $44.9 million dollar man. While this year's playoffs have been his best yet, he is still pretty much invicible on the road (when the opposition matches Datsyuk's line with their shut-down line/D-pairing). Both last night and in Game 3 he was a non-factor. Moreover in 5 road games thus far Datsyuk has 0 pts and is a brutal -4. In fact in 25 career playoff games Datsyuk has 1 goal, 4 assists and is a -7. We may defeat the Sharks, but if we are to go further Datsyuk needs to buckle down and perform on the road as well as the JLA. P.S. Zetterberg needs to step up on the road too as he also has 0 pts and is a -4 in 5 playoff games, although it's likely that he's still not fully recovered from that bad back.

Boy oh boy did this get blown out of proportion fast (I guess I was prophetic about the Devil's Advocate part). A player can work hard and be a non-factor, which is what happened last game. However with nagging injuries to two of our top 3 forwards we need a bit more out of our healthy top forward; that is all.

Well damn. I guess I'm cheering for Liverpool in the finals since I hate AC Milan.

Actually the NBA does NOT reseed teams after the 1st round, so Detroit and Chicago are on a collison course for a down and dirty second round tilt (assuming Chicago win one of the next 4 games against Miami).
