Don't look now but Detroit is back on top of the Eastern Conference. If they remain healthy the Pistons might once again be the top seed, but there's still that little problem in the playoffs where refs. won't let any defender get within 3 feet of their saviours King James and Flash Wade.

He's on my fantasy team so yes, I like him.

Well so much for objectivity. It blows my mind how the conventional criteria of these Top 25 rankings gets thrown out the window, even though this isn't the first time it has happened. Forget the BCS, Florida, Michigan, etc. for a moment and let's talk about the rankings themselves. Take any two teams, let's call them A and B. A should be ranked higher than B if and only if A is the better team base on the past performances of both teams, and vice versa. Now let's get back to the current situation. If the voters truly believe that Florida is a BETTER team than Michigan than fine. But as the article above explains, that is CLEARLY not so. In that case what the voters have just done to rigged the polls to serve an ulterior motive, that being to decide who is more deserving of a chance at the National Championship (of course it could be argued that this 'cause is noble and justified).

Florida may have played in a tough conference, but their 1-point wins don't impress me one bit,

Another great stat line from Ben Wallace 34 min, 0/4 FG 1/2 FT 4 Reb 2 Ast 1 Blk 5 Fouls 1 Pt.
-
LOL at Ben Wallace for being blinded by the $$$.
-
I should add that I love how Ben Wallace complains in Detroit that he wasn't involved in the offense enough, but this season in Chicago all his numbers; pts, FG%, rebounds, blocks are way down. Well it least he's happy with the extra 8 million he got since apparently 52 million wasn't enough for 'his family'.

It's hard for me to get excited about NBA basketball... each year the NBA seems like more of an entertainment spectacle than a sport (no hand-checking so their 'stars' can drive to the hoop at will, stupid dress codes and a no-tolerance policy designed to appease their corporate sponsors, and blatant biases towards their media darlings, Kobe, LeBron and Wade that is only magnified each playoff game. It also doesn't help that the NBA was pretty much f***** Detroit over with their rule changes.
-
Ditto here. I'm sick of hearing how high-flying wing-men (e.g Kobe, T-Mac, 'Bron, Melo, D-Wade, Carter, etc.), rule the game, not to mention these NBA darlings like Kobe, 'Bron and Wade get like 20+ foul shot a game in the playoffs. Greg Oden.... this guy is gonna be awesome! P.S. I assume all the Spartan fans can come out of the woodwork out that college basketball season is here!

No reason why Detroit can't win 3 in a row.... I seem to recall we had a 7 game (post-season) winning streak not long ago.
-
Let's hope Abdelkader turns into a good one 'cause we passed on Guillaume Latendresse over for him!
-
Great win boys!!! Ever thought Rogers would be so dominant, or that Randy Johnson would look so overmatched. P.S. A Rod, you suck!! P.P.S. Hey Giambi, are you looking for something? (waves needle). Let's crush the evil empire tomorrow once and for all!!
-
!!! Well I'd be lying if I said I expected this.
-
Yeah.... getting swept at home against the worst team in the majors (well 2nd worst after today) is pretty awful. And in preparation for the Bronx bombers the Detroit pitching staff gave up 43 run in their final 5 games....

Last grand slam of the year. Also this will be Agassi's farewell. My pre-tournament picks: Men: Federer (duh) Women: Henin-Hardenne or Sharapova
-
From a competitive standpoint I'll admit his wins haven't been riveting (like say, all those Sampra/Agassi encounters). However during the rare times when someone DOES step up their game for a whole match the fans are treated to an instant classic (e.g. See Federer/Safin, Australian Open 2005 or Federer/Nalbandian Tennis Masters Cup 2005). Also with the Fed aiming for the only remaining slam next year's clay court season promises to be one for the ages.
-
Federer is fast becoming the greatest tennis player in the history of the sport. He hasn't won the French yet but I'm pretty sure he will one year when he sets that major as his top priority.
-
Bah.... Sharapova wins. Hoping Roddick brings his A game tomorrow, although I'm still rooting for Federer
-
If all goes well 4 Championship Drive will be renamed 5 Championship Drive pretty soon!
-
Congrats to the 2006 WNBA Champions!
-
I appreciate an attractive woman but I agree Sharapova's tennis game and on-court antics are rather boring and annoying. I don't care for any of the women left. Hoping for a Roddick/Federer final.

Lambeer got fined by the league for verbally abusing the officals. Yup that's the Lamb we all know and love! P.S. They're going to a deciding game 5 to be played at JLA on Saturday.

So long Agassi, the tour won't be the same without you. Hey at least another Agassi (Jaden Gil) should be tearing up the tour in about 15 years!

Agreed P.S. Nice sig! -
Too bad for Hingis today.... apart from Clijsters she is the only top 10 player with an all-court finess game.
