HEART OF A CHAMPION!! How did we win that one? (at one time they had 15 more fts than us!)

Well the officials are certainly against us (3 Free Throws for Detroit in the ENTIRE first half? Are you kidding me?) but we're playing with heart and composure. I still think foul discrepancy will beat us in the end but you never know.

It doesn't matter. The Refs will NOT let Miami lose Game 7. Predictions: - D Wade and Shaq end up with a combined 7 fouls or less (neither will be in foul trouble). - D Wade will get at least 12 free throws - Rasheed will get 5 fouls including at least two offensive fouls - Rasheed will get T-ed up - Miami will be 'appointed' the Eastern Conference champions.

True - could be too tough of a task - but they might get a lucky break if Wade is hurt. Even though I think they should have beat them straight up. The D is just as stellar as it was in last year's playoffs. Don't know what it is - but the effort is not there. One thing to slack against the Pacers for a few games, and still win purely on being the better team, but that's not going to work against Miami. Sad. IMO the effort WAS there tonight. But it's hard to be aggressive when you get PENALIZED for it!!!!

Why is it that well-rounded teams like the Pistons rarely ever win championships in the NBA, whereas well-rounded teams win regularly in the NHL (NJ, Detroit, who have superstars but in VERY well-rounded), NFL (New England), and ML (Boston, New York, although both have star power as well)? Because David Stern and the Powers that Be would rather have Superstars in the NBA Finals, to market the league and for ratings. Face it, the NBA is a league that revolves around its superstars. In no other TEAM sport can a team with 2 superstars and a bunch of mediocre players win 3 straight championships (a la the Lakers). These is the one aspect of the NBA that pales in comparison to the other 3 leagues.

The officiating in Game 5 has been horrific. Since when did D Wade become Kobe Bryant/Michael Jordan? The worst thing about the NBA is the kind of star treatment flashy players get from the official. Wade has committed at least 4 fouls so far today and yet he only has two. Granted the NBA wants star power in the finals, but it shouldn't be compromising the integrity of the game in order to do so.

The Pistons won tonight but the outcome of the series is still uncertain. The only reason we won comfortably is because we got Shaq and Zo in foul trouble early. Hunter on Wade is a good matchup but only when D Wade is missing his outside shots (if it's on he can simply shoot over Hunter). We NEED Game 5 because I don't like our chances in a possible Game 7 (esp. with out thin bench).

Good win tonight by the 'stons. It was only one game, but D Wade sure tried to do his best impression of Kobe in last years finals... rushing shots and trying to do everything himself . Still very early though. Let's see what the rest of the series brings.

Finally, after two rounds mostly void of unpredictability (IMO 0 upsets so far, since the only lower seeded to win a series has been Indiana, and many felt they were better than Boston anyways). The 4 teams who were the CLASS of the NBA this year have advanced without even playing there best ball. Now the fun begins! As for Detroit-Miami, most ppl here saw this coming back in December/January. Wade, Zo and the 2-Jones have REALLY stepped up their game in the post-season, and that worries me a bit. Before I would've said Detroit, but our scorers, while generally dependable have gone through a few cold streaks. I still hope Detroit wins but from here on in the 3 remaining series are all pretty much toss-ups. Go Pistons!!

Sloppy game tonight. I hope Detroit realizes that their talent isn't enough to get by if they don't play 'the right way' (unlike Miami, SA and Phoenix, who can win even when they're not playing well.)

Nope 6. They beat NJ in 7 in the 2nd round.

The Celtics and Pacers are going to a decisive Game 7. More time to rest for the Pistions (esp. Prince).

Boston easily. The Pistons match up better with them (e.g. Prince on Pierce, Sheed on Walker and Billups on Payton (Billups would destroy Payton)). Also the Celtics are less physical.

I like the way you think! (Brings out the trusty whacking stick) Oh btw interesting game... it's was almost like the Pistons spotted the 76ers a 16 point 1st quarter lead before they took off their warmup pants and brought the pain.

Kronwall 1st Team AHL All Star

Great news! He has really developed into an all-around blueliner. Before there were doubts about how he would adapt to the smaller ice surface through the long grind of an entire season, but with his stellar campaign it looks like he'll become a legit top-pairing d-man for Detroit down the road. Also with the Griffins almost certainly about to miss the playoffs, I certainly hope he gets in invite to represent Sweden at this year's star-studded World Championships.
