Never mind Detroit's first 18 games in these playoffs. The officiating in Games 5 and 6 of the SCF were ATROCIOUS. Two bulls*** 5-on-3s, two bulls*** goalie interference penalties and a call on Detroit for merely HITTING. Osgood called out the refs in the McCarty interview, and he's 100% CORRECT. This was the NHL's time on the limelight and the league REALLY wanted it's star-studded showcase to last just little longer. And honestly, why not? It wasn't like they were blatant enough in their bias that any neutral fan could see it, although it sure was pretty close.

I think this year's performance clinches his place in the Hall of Fame. In 1998 he merely had to be solid, but in these playoffs he was one of the leading candidates for the Conn Smythe. Time and time again he came through when Detroit needed him most; that's what separates a great player from a good player.

Just got back from the bars in downtown Toronto. OMG I'm so happy!! It was about 70% Wings fans but the Pens fans were pretty loud and made for a great atmosphere. My buddy who is a Leafs fan and I had bet on the series (as well as Det/Dal) so he had a vested interest as well. We all went nuts when the Wings killed the 5 on 3 (holy s*** Zata that was unbelievable!), and in the end we all shook hands with the opposing fans as a gesture of respect. The Joe is gonna be SOOOOO UNBELIEVABLE should the Wings win game 5.... we've waited 6 years for this! Here's hoping Stanley comes home Monday night!!!

'stons are done. I really thought they'd go places this year but with 3 straight Game 6 losses in the conference finals they're not the resilient team they used to be. Joe D. made all the right moves except one. Too bad that one mistake still overshadows all of his shrewd moves.

Like I said in the GDT, I'm SO glad we gave up a 2nd and a 4th rounder for Stuart instead of a 2nd and 5th rounder for Hal Gill. We've made bigger splashes at the deadline before but Stuart really has been a great fit.
