Why does everyone think we need D-men? Our team has ONE scoring line and is pretty stacked at D. We have atleast 1 NHL ready defensemen prospect, if not more.

I liked how Dats changed his move up... Didnt he use that same move on Khabi before, but went top shelf? I seem to remember seeing him doing it to a Chicago goalie in a tribute video, so maybe he put it 5-hole thinking Khabi would anticipate top shelf...... Sweet goal, anyways. I'd love to see Datsyuk do a shootout relay and see how many different moves he can do...

I don't think Kopecky is exactly more offensively talented than Williams, but I would take Kopecky over Williams in the lineup everyday. EDIT: Always mentioniong his 1pt season doesnt mean squat, either. Wow - his first 26 games in the NHL on the 4th line and he only has one goal! Hudler & Filppula only had 4pts in their first 26 games, too. Kopecky was one of our biggest hitters on the team. He was nearly leading us in hits before he went down with the lowest TOI.

Most Overrated Goal EVER

I'm really hoping Dats will step-up this year in the playoffs. He really didnt do that bad last playoffs - he tied Lidstrom with points, but some people seem to forget that he was injured the last 3-4 games of the regular season and Game 1 of the playoffs... So, he wasnt in top shape and the whole team played like crap. I think if we get a good 2 rounds in and Dats doesnt show up - ship em out.

What do you guys think about Morrow?? He's the definition of a power forward and was doing pretty good. He's cut down on his minors by A LOT too. EDIT: Nevermind - I see they got him locked up for 6 more years!!! I don't know what we could offer for that.. Awesome signing by the Stars

Howard has a .944 SV% since he got back from his injury(3 games)... He also had a .911 SV%(10GP) in December.. He's really starting to 'turn on' after the slow start.

Bring Filp or Hudler up and send Lang down to the bottum lines - see if that will give Lang a reason to start doing something, besides sucking.

Why dont you guys stop bickering and stay on topic? I think this guy is right on - we have enough veterans. I think we should be going for younger guys that we could begin building around. Guys like: Winchester, Clowe, Penner, Moen... They're note exactly the "Gritty Scoring Winger", but I would rather have a few of them on our bottum lines. Penner would be a nice pickup, too. He's young and Anaheim would probably want to have a few more veterans on their roster for the playoffs. What would you give for Penner?(Or think they would accept?)

I wouldnt mind it if: Hasek doesnt come back Howard isnt ready Maybe give him a 2 year contract and give Howard another year in AHL and then Howard & Biron can split time the 2nd year and phase Howard in. If Howard gets ready sooner then Biron could always be a hot commodity at the trade deadline.

Man, you guys jump off the bandwagon so quick. Joey played pretty dang good most of his games with us(including most of this one)and is a fine backup.

Eh - we've had a lot of games recently. But, it is starting to show when a physical team brings it's "A" game we lose. Also, remember when the Flyers beat out Anaheim(or Buffalo? Or both) a while back? It happens. Toronto lit up Buffalo a few months/weeks ago.. whatever

Too bad, thought Lilja might fight. I was really hoping for Lilja to get in a fight last game with maybe Giordono it was? I dont remember, but I remember they both had their gloves off after the whistle with the refs breaking it up... Too bad. Lilja's gotten in a few fights in the NHL, I see. I would really love him to start working out/do whatever it takes to get into "fighting" shape and maybe start being a mini-enforcer.. I really dont know why he wouldnt try? EDIT: I see he got in a fight with Godard & Shayne Corson... Not bad.

Exactly... The whole team isnt untouchable. I like our young players & prospects jsut as much as the next person, but if they can be traded for someone better then we should do it. It all depends though. I wouldnt want to trade Hudler, Filppula, Lebda, Howard, etc for some old geiser who's a UFA, but wouldnt mind that much if a deal was made for a better prospect in place of someone that would 'fit' in the Red Wings systems and needs more.

Why would they call Liv up, who was struggling in the AHL!? Is Jimmy still injured?
