I'm NOT knocking Yzerman... Anyone who has ever followed the wings knows what he means/brings to this team... And I do know that he was on the dowswing of his career yet he still carried the team on his back. All I was pointing out was lots of times you can make the stats look however you want them too... i.e Datsyuk's goal production, because in all honesty he really isn't a goal scorer, he sets up goals. And you can't honestly say that all he brings to this team is points because he is a hell of defensive player as well as penalty killer and more. What I am sick of is people bitching constantly... i.e... Holland is a moron, Shanny sucks, Datsyuk is worthless, we shouldn't resign him, we should have got luongo,etc,etc , always complaining about something. We have had a great team for a long time... and I'm glad that I appreciate it instead of always picking the negative crap and whining about it.

9goals... in Yzerman's last 51 playoff games... including 2002... so thats knocking him by quoting his stats??? I'm not making them up, they are what they are. Now when you say Shanny is Overpaid at 4 million... I would consider that to be knocking him... but thats fine, Shanny sucks, Datsyuk sucks, I mean if they aren't as good as Yzerman and can't carry a team all by themself they must be worthless and overpaid. Nope he sucks in the playoffs... 3 points in 5 games in the playoffs last year while he was injured. Yzerman only scored 9 goals in his last 51 playoff games... Shanahan--- only scored 3 goals in his last 22 playoff games... and he's a goal scorer. "What exactly has you confused?" Why your pulling out goal scoring stats... Since when has Pavel been a goal scorer??? Thats what confuses me, sure he scores some but his job is to set up goals primarily. So now lets rag on the GM who wants to sign one of our top players... Its not like he hasn't given us an AMAZING team the last 15 YEARS IN A ROW. Nevermind that he signed one of the top 10 (Zetts) players in the game right now to an EXTREMELY cheap price long term, oh and maybe has kept our team on top of league even though he had to cut his payroll in half...

Yes he will be making 1.5mil next year, but his cap hit will be 3mil next year. If a player signs a 5 year 15 mil contract, they average it out to 3mil per year cap hit. even if he got paid 14mil in the first year and 1 mil the rest... his cap hit will still be 3 mil.

I thought that too, but after seeing Filppula's name on the GR Griffins playoff roster (and Flip being able to go down without having to clear waivers) Im not sure anymore. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hudler stay and Flip go just because of these reasons... and even more so now that Huds is getting good icetime and actually playing very well

kronwall's cap hit will be 3million next year, Homer is 2.25 I believe, I really doubt Bertuzzi will sign for under 4million, Calder is making 2.9mil this seaon and although he hopefully will take a pay cut I don't think it will be down to 2mill. Other than that I like your list except I'm hoping we can trade Maltby for Grigs, and Markov for a more physical stay at home D-man, and the bonus is that with your roster we are under the cap quite a bit so we could afford to get a better quality younger d-man. Cue excessive Bootland bashing from all the guys that wear pink panties (he's too slow, he can't win a fight, he's not an NHL player, he takes stupid penalties) He hasn't been called up in 3 years... If he sucks that bad he won't play another game, and all the bashers will say "I told you so" if he can take care of his own end first and foremost, keep up with the play, and not take stupid penalties then I am all for bumping Langfeld back down and leaving Booter up. He put up good numbers last year in GR and if I recall scored some timely goals in the playoffs(GWG in Game 7 after HUGE 3rd period comeback) Im not saying he is awesome or anything because I don't know how he will compare to NHL players, but he hasn't been called up in 3 years and I think it is only fair for him to get another shot as opposed to someone else in their first year in the DRW organization.Like I said if he sucks then send him back down after the game, but lets cut him a little slack and give him a fair shot first.

"we already have too many smalish centers" So just because we already have a few that are small , we should trade the rest even if they have great potential because we don't need anymore?????? If a player is gifted, you keep that player and build around them... you don't trade them because "oh we already have a guy that size that plays center" You don't trade Hudler just because "we already have enough small centers" Don't get me wrong I don't think Hudler will be the next Zetterburg, but it is his first year in this league, and despite not getting a lot of ice time he has managed to put up decent numbers. To me.... that means potential/ I would trade Hudler for the right guy coming back... but not just because he's small and we have to many of those type. Hopefully Bertuzzi doesnt play before the deadline so that way Florida would have to lower their demands and we wouldn't have to give up too much.. I would love to have him on our second line. Bottom line: He is a big guy with scoring touch and can set up plays as well... but the best part is that he is physical, he can fight.......AND HE STICKS UP FOR HIS TEAMATES!!!!!! I 100% agree with your post. The best part would be him sticking up for teamates(not breaking their neck...but maybe breaking their nose) I know it probably can't get done without Hudler but I would really try not to include him... But if we had to give him up I would see if he would sign a contract before we got him. If not maybe williams/lilja or swap out Lilja for a mid-prospect plus a conditional 1st round pick if he resigns or doesnt get injured

Of course you cant PROVE Hemsky would never have been hit. I never claimed that he never would have been hit, I never claimed dirty hits would dissappear. I claimed there would be fewer dirty hits. Perhaps there is no exact scientific study to prove this, but perhaps the wisdom of the greatest non-violent hockey player of all time carries some weight. Wayne Gretzky himself said there are more injuries now because there is less fighting.

Who is going to do something about it?????? Who could stop Boogard????? How about Laraque, Godard, McGratton, Peters, Brashear, Simon, Shelley... etc,etc. Are you opossed to our star players getting cheap shots less often??? I never said it would stop every cheap shot, but it would definetly reduce them. How many times did you see Gretzky get run down??? Or how about Lemiux... or even Yzerman when Probie was around??? Do you think Crosby would have the problems he's having right now if Boogard were a Penguin??? If Boogard would have taken exception to Blake's spear do you really think Lapierre would have butt-ended Crosby???

He hasn't made the team yet, there are still 6 cuts to be made but it definetly appears promising for Helm

I get to watch this guy play next friday(24th) against the London Knights. So I will keep my eye on him as I am excited to see what he can do...I am also excited to see Gagner and Kane on the Knights they are tearin it up as well.. Does anyone know what number Mursak is?
