Good to see the penalty killing has improved! Liking the jump to the game so far.

Taking fighting out of the game eliminates peoples livelihoods. Not all of them of course, but alot of guys. Plus, the stars in the NHL still believe there's a place for fighting in the game. I don't think, for those 2 reasons, the PA will ever sign off on getting rid of fighting. As it shouldn't, it will always be a part of the game. It really disappoints me to see Stevie Y say those things, considering he played with Probie, Kocur, McCarty, Shanahan, and many others. I realize he's a GM now, but was a player for so long. Going forward, I don't think this contract will look bad. The Leafs had to pay it, I bet a guy like Vanek if he makes it to FA will actually get more depending on the cap rising.

As is always the case, Mike is one of the best coaches in the game, but he drives me mental with the line-ups we throws out most nights early in the year. Hopefully Sammy is riding pine by next week.

I'm happy to see him dominate. We need more stars, if this guy scores 60-70 goals this year, makes Team Canada's world junior team and maybe gets a chance to compete for the Memorial Cup, well then we're laughing. That is good for development, he's just a kid. There is a ton of talent in Grand Rapids as it is, he's in a good spot.

If Samuelsson is in the line-up Wednesday I'm going to be pissed. He's horrible.

Was gonna say this. Embarrassing that against Kadri, Franson and the AHL squad he didn't do jack all that period. And yet he'll be in the opening line-up.

Weird fight there, Ericsson fared alright, Clarkson had some strong punches that knocked Ericsson ajar.

Man, Bert and Dino have come together and/or fight in nearly every game they've played against each other since Phaneuf came into the league. Would love to know why there's such a rivalry between those two.

Who's been saying Bert needs to retire? He's looked phenomenal so far, no turnovers and skating well, protecting the puck. 2nd line has had some jump too, really like Weiss.

He should smoke some grass before pre-game warmup. He's always so anxious every time he has the puck, refuses to make the easy play or bank it off the boards, always looking for the home run pass that gets picked off. He needs to relax, stop thinking so much and just play the game.
